I Want Philippines to be Like Singapore

I was astounded to see the big difference of my home country Philippines against where I live now.. Singapore. Singapore is so clean, security at its finest, transportation is awesome, no air nor sound pollution, people are all hustling hard, low crime, there is a tree all over the place. I fall in love with the Little Red Dot. I am hoping that someday, Philippines will be the same as Singapore. Do you saw any place that you wish will just be the same with your own country?

Been to Singapore and although I was impressed, I do not wish that the Philippines turns into Singapore. Perhaps, economically, we can strive to be like Singapore but I'd rather that the Philippines keep its identity. Just my two cents.

I do not now. Maybe I am just hoping for the best for our country, not only in economic side but also in living a secured, clean and peaceful place.

I've never been to Singapore but I've heard lots of nice comments from friends who have been there that gives me an idea on how Singapore looks like. In my opinion, we can never expect this country to be like that. It's too far from being a well-run, clean, and disciplined country. In my opinion, it's like expecting a barbaric man to act like a royalty. Possible but takes a whole lot of changes.

You hit the right word @PinkChaimpagne. 'CHANGES'. Filipinos need to change from the mentality up to the the behaviour.

@PinkChaimpagne If someone tells me that it government's fault why they are living a poor life, instead of arguing, I am just walking away. It is so sad.

@wiLLmaH True. And I have nothing against my fellow countrymen. I am a Filipino and proud of it. But it's a shame that we blame the country's issues to the government or whoever's seated at the top instead of starting the change in ourselves.

It is nice to find a place that seems perfect. I have not been to Singapore nor the Philippines so I cannot really judge either place.

You are right. We can only make a good judgement when we will see it first hand.

To be honest, Singapore is not a clean country because the residents are not good at maintaining the cleanliness of the place. Singapore is clean because the government is rich enough to hire cleaners to clean the streets. It all boils down to money, whether the government has enough money or not, and whether the government is willing to spend the money.

Yeah. Ive heard a lot of Filipinos going to Singapore for working abroad. They said the place is peaceful and the salary is much more greater. I am also planning on going there to work abroad. Hope my luck comes.

Are you there for good or just to work ? Is it true that the cost of living there is high ?

@wiLLmaH Oh so that is not true . Sometimes some concepts about a country is wrong . But overall , Singapore is a very nice country indeed to live in .

@SIMPLYD If you will consider the prices of housing, buying a car and children's education, then it will be the most expensive city to live in. :)

Only for work. :) When I went to our grocery last June and compated the prices, the primary necessities in Philippinesis is more expensive than Singapore. So, for me it is not true. :)
