I started physical therapy at Pro Care Physical Therapy in Canton, Pa one year ago in August 2014 for my back and neck . I tried to go for a walk and I was in a lot of pain I couldn't do it. So I talked to my doctor about physical therapy and he agreed that it should help.
So I just finished my therapy last week 9/18/15. I can tell you it helped me tremendously. I went 3days a week and it took me about one hour and 15 minutes. I am now able to walk 45 minutes on a tread mill. I've done a mile walk too, or I do 30 minutes of power walking 4 days a week and 40 minute power walking 2 days a week with Leslie Sonome.
The people who worked with me at Pro Care Physical Therapy are amazing people. I couldn't afford to pay the 20% the Blue Cross Blue Shield didn't pay. They just had me fill out a hardship agreement and didn't care about the 20% which I was amazed by. Most places want to make sure they get that 20%. Pro Care is more concerned about the patient than the money.
If you are out of shape or like me overweight and out of shape physical therapy could be for you too. They give you various exercises to do and after your exercises they work on the problem areas with various manipulation. They help get you mobile again.
They have Pro Care Physical Therapy all over the state of PA. You can call one of the main offices at Wyalusing, Pa 570-746-0504 and ask for a Pro Care near you. Or you can go online to I thank God for Pro Care Physical Therapy they are a blessing for sure.

I've had to go though physical therapy twice. The first time, I went for problems with my neck and it helped a lot. The second time I went for a frozen shoulder and it did help but it was so extremely painful that I had to quit as it caused me to go into a flare with my RA.

@simone10 I am so sorry you suffered with your shoulder. I had surgery on my left shoulder and went through physical therapy for that too and it did help, but there are cases like yours where it doesn't work out. I am glad it helped your neck. God bless you

@Butchcass4 It hurt me so bad with my shoulder that I was actually crying and I never cry from pain. I would much rather had given birth than go through that again.

My daughter needed physical therapy after a severe broken arm. She was only nine. We were served through the hospital and had no insurance at the time. We were actually shown how to do the therapies at home and as long as she showed progress we were allowed to be in charge of it and she just got measured weekly. It was a good program and helped her not lose the use of her arm.

I'm glad that the therapy has helped you so much and I'm sure the pain is already gone and that you are able to move with ease now.
It seems you have also put in much effort to get well completely and you have shown great determination and I'm sure God was with you all the time.
We don't have insurance that covers physical therapy here although it would be nice if there were.

@kayshope Yes they were part of my 51 pounds of weight loss with the exercises they gave me to do. They helped my overall body to get moving and I can't tell you how much of a difference it made. I thank God for Pro Care Physical Therapy. I pray your sister will consider going to physical therapy it'll change her life.

i sprained my ankle last year and had to do some physical therapy. i wasnt that big of a fan, i basically just had to do exercises while they watched. it cost alot becauseof my high deductible and i couldve done it at home. however i used to work at a physical therapy office and saw how valuable it was to certain patients

@sprinklesare4winners Yeah this company, Pro Care does not care about the amount the insurance doesn't pay, they just fill out a hardship form and that's it. They are more concerned about your well being. That is why I wrote the article to encourage people that are in the state of PA to use them instead of other ones as you get treated with kindness and deep concern. They make you feel like a family member. They will eventually spread out to other states but it will take some time. So I feel for the ones that don't have Pro Care available to them. As I went to other physical therapy places and was NOT impressed as I am with Pro Care.

I am glad you find a physical therapy that can help you. I needed to see a physiotherapist last year when I had a serious problem to my shoulder. My doctor gave me a prescription and the physiotherapist is a professional doctor who works inside the local hospital.
