Could It Be Just Psychological ?

Here's a sample of lechon . As you can see the roasted pig's body was chopped already with the head intact still .

Yesterday , my officemate and I had our office driver , bought us a kilo of lechon belly . As some are familiar with my posts , lechon is a roasted whole pig with the skin so crispy , with a picture I attached herewith. But this lechon belly from Cebu , we haven’t tried yet , so we bought a kilo and divided the pieces into two and I ate mine at lunch time . My officemate ate hers last night since she had a brunch before lunchtime . After eating the lechon belly , in a little while I felt dizzy . I was scared and had the company nurse take my Blood Pressure . It was normal though ; 110 / 70 . So I was thinking my cholesterol might have crept up above the normal. So I drank green tea and sniffed my White Flower embrocation . After a while , I wasn’t feeling dizzy anymore . My officemate and I was laughing for buying that fatty lechon belly . But at least we were able to taste for ourselves how delicious it is . But my feeling dizzy after eating that fatty lechon belly , could it be just psychological because I don’t eat ever the fat of the pork since I know it is bad for the health ? Your thoughts please . . . .

I don't know if you drank while you were eating or it had to much salt to it but pork tends to make people act weird eating it and especially since you haven't eaten it for awhile.

It probably wasn't psychological. I'm glad to hear that you're ok, though. Maybe it was because it was very fatty, and you had too much because it was so delicious?

Yes, it has to be the thoughts. If you are mentally presuming that something is bad, and still consume it, the body reacts differently. Once I was bitten by a snake, and I was being told repeatedly that all snakes are not poisonous, until they got me to the doctors. Later, I came to know that though this is a fact that not all snakes are poisonous, it is also a fact that many a times it is the scare that plays things bad.

Precisely . The thought of the scary side effect is what i thought to have caused me to be dizzy ! It's a good thing the snake that bit you wasn't a poisonous one .

I doubt if it was that the flow of blood to your brain was scant for a moment then ,because your blood pressure is on the low side and that when you had your meal.Normally people feel sleepy after meals .

Yes, i could be that too . But i think now that it was really a psychological one since my officemate didn't feel that way , when she even is taking a maintenance for her high BP and cholesterol. But i am glad it scared me so next time i will not eat that dish again.

If I eat fatty meat, I end up not feeling too good. My stomach and feeling woozy. Some people can eat the fat that comes with a piece of meat. I just never have been able to handle it.

That happens really because we are not used to eating the fat of the meat . And i experienced that at that moment , so i felt dizzy .

If your office mate didn't feel ill after eating hers, it was obviously ok. So yes, it was psychological.

Yes, she didn't feel anything like that when she ate it for her dinner that night she said . Although she laughingly said she took simvastatin ( cholesterol blocking pill ) after eating them . So she also told me it was psychological .

I really would have thought it would have been your blood pressure. But I guess not. Some foods are just very rich to the body and have effects.

The BP is okay . It was 100 /70 . Very normal . Though , i was thinking that since while i was eating it , i was scared it might raise my cholesterol , made me felt that way . Psychological .

Oh well, it could be psychological. If you could enjoy it with no worry, perhaps it will be better. Mind also become reality

Indeed the mind is so powerful . I was eating , while at the back of my mind , i am worried that it might elevate my cholesterol beyond what is normal. So maybe that's why i felt like that after eating that .

I think it could be psychological. Some of the time if we churn too much of the negative thoughts then the body puts us in the hibernation mode. this is depressing mode where people react at you all the time. I can tell you that it is harder to get out of it unless you work on this. so make sure you go out often and meet new people else this sort of headache and fatigue often leads to stress.

That's what i was thinking , that it was psychological . Actually , i don't often get headaches . As to feeling dizzy , i do sometimes, specially nowadays that i am having insomnia and the lack of sleep makes me feel dizzy .

@SIMPLYD Maybe it was solely because of eating that pork fat. It could have been a combination of lack of sleep and all that fatty meat.

@Lushlala Yes , indeed . besides i think it's the fear of its detrimental effect to health while i was eating it . But i must say , it was delicious though .

See , just because you are not a meat eater , you feel nauseous . I really think it's psychological because while eating it and seeing that it's fatty , i was already scared .

@SIMPLYD That says it all. Maybe it was psychological.. maybe also physical.. sometimes feeling too full also disturbs your orientation.

I do not believe that the fat can make you feel dizzy, I am pretty sure it was psychological. Enjoy your lechon and forget about health fear when you eat it.

@SIMPLYD I imagine it's a bit too greasy, I am sure that there are other parts of the lechon that are much better.

It could very well be psychological. Just think of women who have false pregnancies. Their minds make there bodies go through the physical changes just as if they were pregnant.

Wait... let me wipe off the drool off my face... heheh.. Anyways, it could be your system is just not used to amount of fat you have eaten at that time. Or it could be that you were already so hungry and ate too fast.

It was probably a reaction to the salt more than the fat. A reaction to fat wouldn't make you dizzy it would give you pain. If you were worried, then it might have been psychological.

Wow this makes me so hungry and want some of this, do you still have some, share to me please if not later i will keep dreaming to eat food like this. Haha i think it just your feelings or psychology. Maybe the weather are too hot also can cause your dizziness. The pork not so bad health just don't over eating like every days pork. Just need to be balance diet i think so.

Oh if only i can send you some through email. But i assure you that lechon is so delicious . Yes, i eat pork every other day , but no fats . I guess , eating the fat that time scared me so it made me dizzy psychologically.

23 Sep 15
The pork fat was probably the culprit. They are not healthy at all. Maybe it raised your cholesterol level somehow causing the dizziness. It's funny to know that you are as well using White Flower embrocation, lol! I use it a lot and always carry one with me all the time.

Precisely , that was what in my mind while eating it with the fat and all - it might raise my cholesterol . Oh the white flower ? I always have it in my bag and it's so useful to me . So you too ! They say it 's the old people's way . But I don't care , because i like it since it helps a lot during some minor ailments and itches .
