boyfriend is staying home today

he's sleeping right now, as im getting ready for the gym (trying to not make too much noise!). i envy him but at the same time i remembered why he's home - he's an electrician and his company didn't have a job to send him to today. this has happened once or twice before, not for long, but its still nerve-wracking because when he doesnt work, they dont pay him. so its a concern, especially with all of our financial setbacks lately (car troubles, upcoming expenses, etc) money is tight and im already over-exerting myself to cover what i had to take out of our account for my car and that training seminar. trying to keep positive and hoping they call him with a job for the rest of the week.

I find now a days with work, and jobs wise they tend to do this. I remember years ago when I was younger they kept you at work, or sent you out anyways. They cared whether you made your bills and your well being. Whereas now they only care about money, and not making money. Rather sad if you ask me. I am in the same situation right now with my work.

I can feel you, it's hard not to have a fixed job and wait that they call you.

Many years ago, I had a boyfriend who did construction so I understand how you feel. It can be nervewracking at times and it seems like I was always worried.

@sprinklesare4winners That's good that it only happens a few times a year.

Financial worries are really draining. I hope there will be a job for him for the rest of this week.

Well atleast he can get a day of rest and hopefully he will get a call about a job. I'm sure that job pays pretty good but sucks he only can work when they have something lined up. I like my job where I know i have something to go to every day and get paid. Praying things we'll get better for you both and he gets a job soon

yeah its difficult. i mean usually its steady work, he is employed by that electric company but when they finish a specific job early or ahead of schedule, they only need a few people there or he has to wait til they start another project.

I'm sorry that it's a tense time for you. Money troubles are no joke and never fun. Could he do some sort of yard work or landscaping for the inbetween?

So much depends on money. But it is easier with two earners.
