Are you still with Cable, Satellite or whatever.
Do you know that Streaming is now Hot and has now become the most Popular way to watch your favorite programs.
You will need a streaming device like a Roku, Amazon , Apple or Google device or there are also new TV's already set up for streaming.
You still need an ISP but if you shop around you can find some smaller companies that are good but charge a lot less.
What are some of the streaming services available, I think everyone has heard of Netflix then there is Amazon Prime, Hulu, HBO Go, Sling, and Crackle and there are more coming out every day. Some you pay a small fee for and others are free.
Come on now when are you going to go to Streaming and stop paying those High Cable or Satellite Bills?

Lovely info! I get my net from the official telephone department of India. I will have to check out if it is available with private cell operators/net providers here, I have a satellite dish, and the monthly fare works out close to, some eight dollars.

@Marcyaz Yes it is, but it is also a somewhat slow connection, with little bandwidth. However, it suffices my needs.

I am a TV and movie fanatic. I have cable, a Roku player, and my Xbox One has all the streaming apps. I subscribe to Netflix, Hulu Plus, and Amazon Prime. I also have my collection of digital movies on Vudu and I won't buy a TV or Blu-Ray player unless it's "smart" (which means streaming those apps).
I can watch movies or TV in almost any room in my place. I have memorized which channels to record on my DVR every night before going to work.
If I ever lose my internet connection you will find me in the fetal position, sobbing. lol

Well don't worry David I would probably offer you a cup of coffee or an iced tea but no police then you could come in and watch some TV here.

@Marcyaz I would have to follow random people around quoting my favorite movies and shows and hoping they get it instead of calling the police lol

Thanks for enlightening us.
I understand that streaming of TV programmes of different channels is available through internet but one could access it on PC or laptop. I have not heard about the use of streaming device here. If this is happening then it is wonderful way to enjoy TV programmes. Netflix etc. are not yet available here in India.

I bought my Roku five years ago, before streaming was hot. I knew it was the right way to go for the future. Unfortunately, I am still unable to get internet for cheaper price than a bundle, but we never watch regular TV and I hope to be able to someday be able to get a la carte services that are cheaper.

I've been streaming for several months now. My granddaughter got me started when she stayed here because she had a Netflix account. I binged on Dr Who for about two weeks.
When she moved out I signed up for the free month and have been with them ever since. I also added Hulu and Amazon Prime. I am going to look up those others you mentioned to see if I can find any that's totally free.

@Marcyaz I know I have checked the choice in the United States. Here they ask for about 20$ a month and my language is not even available. They broadcast only in German and French. I understand and speck French, it's my second language, but I would love to be able to listen to the news in my native language.

I'm with you. We have Netflix and have done away with satellite or cable. I sure don't miss the commercials for sure.

I haven't ditched cable just yet, but I probably will within the next year or so. I have high-speed internet through my cable company, so I have an internet/cable package through my provider. The cost isn't actually that bad, but I can see where it's definitely cheaper to stream. My girlfriend has both Netflix and Amazon Prime, so we actually stream quite a lot of the shows we watch.

Only way I would stream is if I could get the same shows I watch now for a lesser price. Besides cable, I use Netflix, Hulu, and Shudder.

I'm streaming on Netflix. I have been with them since a while after they started up. Great company!

We pay much more for our internet connection than for the satellite, and that too for limited data at low speed. Still some time for us to catch up.
