Do you take Astrology seriously?

Some people clearly do, as they spend huge amounts of time on working out their star charts based on their time and place of birth.
However, I find the whole thing to be completely ridiculous - the very idea that the position of the Sun, Moon and planets have the remotest effect on the characters and personalities of individual humans is so absurd that I wonder how on earth intelligent people can take it seriously for even one second - but they do!

no i dont ,
i only know that the moon is effecting the fluids on earth , including the ones in our bodies , there for there is more tens in the 3 days where the moon is full , and i guess thats where the man wolf story comes from,
but the rest is not at all , and you can believe it humans do take things seriously depending on their beliefs and sometimes they ignore the more real and serious things according to that to

Yes, I do. My birthday is the Summer Solstice, 6/22. Longest day of the year, also the sun is closest to the earth on that day. According to an astrology book I read, a person born on my birthday has a natural understanding of psychic phenomenon and also astrology, which I find to be true. I read alot about the subject and I pick it up with ease. I see how it relates in everyday life and the seasons as well. I dont really go by daily horoscope predictions though. I do try to memorize my own natal birth chart and those close to me as well.

In order to prove your contention you would have to find lots of other people with the same birthday as yourself and see if they also had "a natural understanding of psychic phenomenon and also astrology", however you defined that. You would also have to find sample populations of people who did and did not have such understanding - seleced completely at random - and see how what proportion of them shared the same birthday.
You must also explain the mechanism by which the positions of balls of gas and lumps of rock - millions of miles away - can have the remotest effect on the personalities of human beings depending on their place, time and date of birth!

@indexer Thats a good point. Ive met several people with the same month and day birthday, different years then me though. I never thought to ask their level of interest or understanding on the topics. I think its a good coincidence at least that I had much in common with the things mentioned on the page for my birthday. If its fake then its really given me alot of ancient mumbo jumbo to study up on, lol.

I read that more or less like "It is so complex a study I can't believe you actually try to decipher it!"
For all I believe, a systematic study would be better than to go all 'fashionable" about it.

Having read and practiced astrology for a few years, I would say that it is a very complex science and includes a lot of mathematics. I bet most of the astrologers you have come across are using some automated programs to generate the generic stuff.
I would also quote what @Salamnda says on his box -
the moon is effecting the fluids on earth , including the ones in our bodies ,
As for the charts based on the time of birth - Yes, there is no such thing as the exact time perfected to the seconds. As such there is always a 10-20% chance of miscalculations - but beyond that if the calculations are done the right way, and interpreted (or read) the rigth way, you are surely going to get 80% of stuff (predictions on future or past) correct..![](/Content/images/emotes/happy.gif)

But surely it is all based on complete nonsense. If people want to play these games that is up to them, but to call it a "science" is to go a lot too far!

I take it as a bit of fun, but my wife takes it all very seriously and I have to respect her beliefs.
The thing that intrigues me is that if you look at any person's characteristics they always seem to match those that have been identified as relevant to their star sign, however I accept we have probably read these characteristics a hundred times before and probably make our personality match what we have read in some small way.
The majority of predictions (for how your day/week/month/year will proceed) are so vague as to be irrelevant.
I see you took this discussion to a site where Steve Kinsman was not present.
