No more breakfast club until Spring

For a little over a year I have been having a group of friends get together each week to have coffee, a yummy treat and conversation. It has been a lot of fun. It called dubbed the "Breakfast Club". My mother had t-shirts made up for us and everything.
We always did them at my house until one day when three of the kids were playing in the other room while us moms were in the kitchen so many things got broken. My kids are 7 and 11 and in school. These kids one is 7 and home-schooled the other two are 2 and 3 year old's.
My daughter's tablet got broken, puzzle pieces were everywhere and missing, toys were chewed up. And it took me two hours to clean the mess up.
After that it was warm enough we met up at a local park each week. Now the weather has gotten to cold in the mornings to get together at the park anymore. I am really going to miss the socialization of these amazing friends each week but I just can't do them in my home anymore. It's not baby proof enough. Hopefully in the Spring when it warms up we will all be able to get together at the park again.

We only have one place like that in town and its very small and mostly full of older folks who would not want little ones running around screaming. Plus my friends would likely say they couldn't afford to buy food for us to go there as I usually am the one providing snacks and coffee along with one other friend of mine usually. Only three of us are home without kids the others all have kids and would have to bring them with them to the cafe or my home. I wish there was another local place we could all go and meet but so far there isn't.

That is sad that you must put those limits up. The parents should have been responsible for their kids while you socialized. It left it as no fun for you.

That's the hard part is that they usually just let the kids play in the other room and don't check on them until its time to leave they take them home. They are to little to be unsupervised that long. My house isn't baby proof enough. I always remembered to put my daughters tablet in her room but this one time I forgot and it got broke. When my kids were little I had playgroups in my home but it was baby proof at that time. I always followed my kids around to make sure they didn't hurt anyone or anything. When I babysit I follow the kids around so I know they won't break anything I watch them every minute.
