Ice or no ice in soft drinks in fast food restaurants?

When I order drinks in fast food places I never get the ice because without ice they fill the cups to the top with the drink itself. It is better value for money. The ice replaces the drink with frozen water which dilutes the drink as it melts. Also by the end of the drink it is hard to get to the last of the weakened drink because of the ice cubes and slush. If you try drinking from the cup rather than through a straw the ice hits you in the teeth and lips and the drink dribbles through. I’d rather go without the ice. Same with alcohol. I never order drinks on the rocks. I mostly drink beer which is served ice free anyway. How about you? Arthur Chappell

@arthurchappell hate ordering soft drinks with ice because soon they taste like flavored water. Same with cocktails.

Yeah, I also order the servants not to add ice into my drinks when I consume in the restaurant. If I don't do so, they will add a lot of ice in my cup so that they could provide me with less drink. I understand that they wanna make profits by means of adding ice. But I don't like the way they don't directly ask me whether I need to add ice or not.

They should certainly ask you first. It I wrong of them to just assume they can give you ice.

I don't mind drinks without ice if they are very cold. With fizzy drinks I prefer they be very cold with no ice, because the ice makes them go flat as it melts.

I prefer drinks without ice. Just don't want to take risk. :)

I don't like one restaurant to put ice in my drinking water because after the ice is in there for awhile it starts tasting like chemicals.

I agree, I want more liquid, and not pay for less and ice.

I share your opinion on this Arthur. It is a common trick to add plenty of ice in order to reduce the amount of drink. I often order coke or orange in a pub and every single time I am offered ice. Even at summer I prefer not to have ice, but often wonder why people insist on offering ice during the winter.

I always order my drinks without ice for the exact same reason. I don't want to pay for a cup that's 1/2 ice
