I've been in the call center for over two years and I'm just moving to different companies. Yes, it's hard and at first will seem like a challenge.but sometimes it can get really boring. Even when you're dealing with different people with different issues, if you've been doing it for a few years already, it will feel like you're stuck in a routine. I've tried different other accounts and representing different products or companies but it still feels like the same. I'm actually planning to shift to a different industry.

It's a lonely job as well. I remember when I was in a call center, I didn't have time to chat with colleagues and make friendships at the job. It was all about the clients.
I like having relationships with co-workers, it makes the job much more interesting when you feel like you are going to meet with friends every day.

@besweet That's sad. In call center where I worked. There are many team buildings for agents.

@besweet That is true. Your colleagues/friends can be your motivation to improve in your job and to go to work everyday.

I couldn't agree more. Based on my experience I have to say call center is indeed very stressful and challenging job. Nevertheless, its worth the experience because it taught me a lot of things and has developed many skills I ought to experience.

I have worked as a calling agent for an internet company when I was a student and it was stressful indeed. I don't find it challenging though because it's a little boring for me. I would consider a job challenging if it was interesting and hard to do at the same time. It would keep me motivated to keep trying. It would be something like a large company manager or a job with great responsibilities and a wide field of work.

@PinkChaimpagne Some people can find challenge in every job, I am guessing we need challenge in order to be successful. Calling center jobs are exhausting in my opinion, you can hear all kind of stories and try to satisfy everyone. I was a promoter when I did this job and it was even harder to manage, it was making me depressed.

I agree with you on that. The word challenging suits something that is interesting and something that gets you motivated to improve on it. Working in a call center when I'm just an entry-level agent does not challenge me at all. Sometimes it feels like a routine answering the phone calls and it can get tiring and boring.

I think the most challenging job would be that of a surgeon. One slip and something could go wrong.

I was a call center agent so I agree it is a challenging and stressful job. I was also a corrections officer but still felt the call center job was more chllenging

Agree, you need to be present minded and always have a long patience.
