If You Built it...What Would it Be?

I'm talking about a restaurant, actually. In a recent discussion about people's dreams I mentioned my on-again, off-again fantasy about running a fast food joint that only sells healthy, well-cooked menus for an affordable price. Someone mentioned how hard it is to eat low carb when eating out. So, okay...if I built my restaurant, it would feature healthy items such as low carb cooking as well as fresh fruits and veggies. There would be a nice, big, do-it-yourself salad bar stocked with everything imaginable and the wait staff would be well paid and have a friendly work environment.
Yeah, that's my fantasy. Can't say how realistic it is or how popular it would be, but that's the kind of place I would build.
How about you folks? If you built it, what would your ideal restaurant be?

low carb is only healthy if'n ya've health troubles that prevent'cha from properly digest 'em. otherwise, its jest 'nother fad created by the diet thieves. fer myself? i'd an allergy free place. where folks'd not've to worry 'bout cross-contamination 'n the schtuff'd not be made from cheap fillers...like rice flours.

Allergy free is a cool idea. My hubby is allergic to nuts. (But he married one anyway)

Any kind of new restaurant around here would be good as long as the wait staff was on top of things and the food was good is all I would ask for. Right now we are having to go to either Jackson or further for a good meal. The only Good restaurant here is a Mexican restaurant and we heard they are having financial problems, we would be unhappy to see them close down.

We have every type of restaurant you can imagine practically right on top of us. It's so tempting to not cook and just go out to eat because they are all so close by, but I do try to be a good wifey and cook at least 4 or 5 times a week. hehe

We have 3 other restaurants here (one is Chinese) which we order from every now and again but the other two restaurants one is not any good at all and the other one has a good cook but the servers do not hurry and do not offer you coffee. It used to be a good place to go but when you have to wait a half hour to be waited on and then no one even asks if you would like a drink forget it we don't go back there and this is not even during rush hour.

@Marcyaz I understand completely. I also dislike having to wait around forever for my food. It's better to go somewhere where the wait is reasonable and the food is good, if not exactly perfect.

If I spend money to go out to eat, I want tasty food that is bad for me. My ideal restaurant would serve very delicious food. I would probably rather have a bakery/coffee shop. I want people to be chatting and slurping and trying to get the sticky icing off their fingers without letting anyone see them licking them.

McDonalds isn't even the cheapest fast food anymore, nor is it the tastiest. Bleh. :P

Wow, that is quite an ambitious thought. It would take a lot of work just to run a fast food. I can't imagine how much effort and time you'd have to put into a hotel or mall. :) Love the idea though.

@mkrnex That's true. I didn't stop to think of that. I live in a metro area, but I don't frequent the malls very often due to the fact that I can buy the same items elsewhere for less. For those of us on smaller incomes, the mall prices can be intimidating. :)

@Novelangel Shopping mall in metros are like evergreen income source! Similarly hotel too. Choosing the best people for its maintenance is the key!

An all you can eat, with a sense of fusion and a better drinks selection than most such restaurants offer
