What makes your blood boil?

I have heard the statement "it makes my blood boil" many times over the years. As a child I heard it from my mother, grandmother, aunts and friends. I knew what it meant then but it does sound kind of gross using the term today and imagining someone's blood boiling. In essence, it is what makes you angry, seethe or indignant. "It makes my blood boil to think that she is getting away with murder" or "When I see the way he treats his employees my blood boils" My blood boils less today than when I was much younger but when I see people with bad manners it does cause my blood to simmer a bit. What boils your blood?

Politics and religion. Most of the times its the people behind each that does it. Mainly politics though, I can't believe idiots have such positions.

Politics and religion cause a whole heap of problems when extremists take it to the next level

@Freelanzer Pretty much when anyone takes it to an unreasonable level. Otherwise I can talk about both.

@OneOfMany I t just seem that those topics bring out the worst in some people. Having studied political science I would love to discuss both if the emotions were left out.

I hate able bodied people leeching off the State, expecting us to fund their life style.

@OneOfMany That is eminently sensible - make them earn it.

That's why if I were to write the welfare program it would include community service as a factor to earn it. Clean sidewalks, pick up trash, do landscaping, make businesses look nice. Just simple things go a long way to improving a community. Things people wouldn't have to pay others to do (not that they were before). If they refused to do anything but leech, they would get very little. Hardly enough for any lifestyle other than survival.

I feel the same way and sometimes what is worse is when you seem almost helpless to change it. How do you change the mind of a bigot or an extremest like Isis? Very tough

petty mindedness, people who nitpick and create angry arguments over nothing ruining your day over something that really shouldn't matter.

Sneaky or under-handed people, cause my blood to boil, also people that are not fair, and think they can fool people into being there for them, when they are not there for people.

Fairness used to be my biggest beef in the workplace so when I was in any position of authority I always tried my best to treat everyone fairly

@Freelanzer - Right you are. that is a really old-timey expression. Fact is, though, that sometimes the blood of even the most docile, even-tempered tough guys can get to boiling - the deep sea divers who ascend from the deep too quickly and get "the bends" when the boiling blood bubbles burst within their bone joints. (I know that you knew that, too...)

I'm mostly pretty calm but I do get riled by companies who make mistakes and then punish ME or threaten me because of their own incompetence. I'm in an extended conflict with my gas and electricity supplier who screwed up the direct debits (they didn't set them up properly - 3 times over) and then got aggressive with me for non payment.
