The First "Block", on Mylot

Aurangabad, India

The inevitable had to take place for the first time today. The 'victim', was overstretching an argument. The latter becoming a near harangue. Can't bear with folks who argue, just for the heck of it, or are patently biased. This fellow surely was.

It is a good choice to block those you do not want to connect with!

Yeah...and not feel bad about it. In real life, when we disconnect we are left feeling terrible. We are forced to sort of explain things to others why we did it, otherwise, everybody would think we are out of our minds or are fighting types, just about anything that person may tell about us. Online socializing has its advantages.

@vandana7 No point keeping a conversation which becomes meaningless. We are lucky on the net, we do not many qualms, of coming face to face with a person.

Yes Gary! Sometimes we run into folks, who just don't have any sense in them.

I don't block people unless they start something and then blame their shortcomings on me. If you state something wrong, I will correct it if it annoys me, and that person did, and when I corrected them they tried to turn it around but the third sentence that it was my mistake. That was in a game, but still, it was really immature. I was about to block them when they blocked me. I blocked them anyways, but hope that they have an exceptionally short life (yes, I get heated up quickly).

@gregario888 ..I was comparatively new at the site. I was lucky I knew who would help me to send that jerk away.

I only block if people try to use my posts as a place to spam their links, etc. Otherwise, I just ignore those who get unruly .

I am very unruly. I took this discussion to sweets and Europe, and now we are back.

My threshold is much lower, I can't stand a useless argument. Particularly when a person is persistent.

Unruliness rules? A bit like entropy, that one.

There are days like this. The first plagiarist I blocked was posting sweet messages addressed to me in discussions started by other members. He has finally been banned at the 3rd or 4th one, when he was speaking of killing me.

@vandana7 You can say only sweet words here, and I believe that he had a hard time to find insults not filtered by myLot.

I would have no hesitation in blocking someone like that. I've already unfollowed a couple.

I do try to head off obstinate mules, as often as I can. But this one was a heck too much for me.I had to do the inevitable.

Being able to block people is good for our mental health - though it can feel like sticking your fingers in your ears and refusing to listen to things you don't like. Nothing wrong with that though.

A "harangue" is the kind of meringue which doesn't crumble and melt in the mouth but sticks to your teeth like a leech and won't let go however much you work your jaw.

Oh I missed it. But that's a good move some people deserve to be blocked when they stretch arguments.

Surely some people manage to irritate you more than others. By putting up a stream of drivel, which your friends and followers, as well as yourself, are sure not to like.

I have never blocked someone.. on any site.. I hope I never do. I just over look or ignore such people. Some people do irk me.. especially the one that think they know it all and are always right.
