Nowadays, after every 2 to 3 months one can hear of a new phone being launched with this and that feature. As a human being we do get influenced by the highly glamorous advertisements which come prior to the launches and wait to buy them.
Sometimes we do find the features advertised in the phone to be awesum but many times those so many attractive features are of no use in daily life. Many people still believe a phone is just for calling or receiving calls.
Very recently, Samsung and Apple have launched new phones.
So, if you were to chose one from them which one will you go for and if possible why ?

@LadyDuck I'm with you. I have a basic phone that I can make or receive calls and text messaging and take pics. that's good enough for me.

Ummm neither- simply because Samsung is involved in price skimming strategy that makes phones way too expensive and I miss the old Samsung when it used to price its handsets for what they were worth and NEVER an iPhone for the exact same reason wiLLmah stated. I find them feeding on exclusivity that is based on nothing ( limited functionality and crazy prices made a phone exclusive? When did that happen? ). I have an Asus Zenfone 5. Costed me just 10,000 bucks and am a happy man ever since. ![](/Content/images/emotes/happy.gif)

I used to have a Samsung, but last year, I traded that in for an iphone, and I have never looked back. Friday, the new Iphone 6s and 6s plus were released to the public. I had preordered the 6s plus and I received it by UPS. I am enjoying it so much as it is really fast, has a bigger camera, and the best featuree is 3d touch. Not all apps use that feature however, but in time, I thihk they will take advantage of it. I will never go back to Android.![](/Content/images/emotes/thumbup.gif)

Joke for you people:(Apple's story)
I am going to build a company. Specifically a smartphone.
My mantra is whatever limited I build ,Just keep the price high out of reach of masses.
Which will earn it a elite tag for which in return it gives a big zero basically "NOTHING".
So, there is my brand on a high and (foolish) people buying it!!
I will never reduce the price as the "ELITE" tag will vanish. I will keep manufacturing good for nothing limited features phones with a kiddy drawing play stuffs along with it. People will keep buying it!!
Moral of the story: Whatever you sell, sell it HIGH, (as people downlook cheaper things even if it is awesome)

• @mkrnex This is so funny yet so true! People will always clamber over each other to get to the most expensive product. Sometimes this is all based on perception; the idea that the more expensive the product the better. But does that hold true? Not always. -and then once the brand is well established, the makers don't even have to do much to drive sales, the product sells itself off the back of its reputation.

@ashuli My answer was in the joke itself. I am not a fan of Samsung, I like Android and I will buy any Android phone which has nice features relevant to it's rate. Now-a-days Samsung too is following Apple's way by keeping high price tags.

It is about the choice. iPhones are status symbol and people take it as a pride to carry an iPhone. Nowadays one feature which people focus on while buying a smartphone is camera. When it comes to iPhone, they have a good quality lens camera, but it works great when pictures are taken in daylight, at night pictures are a bit blurry.
Samsung has also come up with some great range of phones like Galaxy Note edge which has amazing camera quality both at daylight and in the dark.
So it purely depends on the choice of an individual as to with whom they want to relate to.

I do make use of some of the features offered in smartphones these days, but primarily a mobile phone to me is for making telephone calls. The most important aspect has always been the quality of the call.
Despite desiring a quality mobile phone, I do not like the current trend of large bulky ones. The demand for video and internet use has driven the companies to produce quite ungainly models, which is quite impractical for a mobile device.
My current model is the Experia Z1 compact, which is still fairly large but far better than those absurd models that will not even fit well into a shirt pocket.

@Shyamalaa Oh yes, I was very fond of the small mobiles and found the trend for large ones to be absurd.

My first mobile phone was the size of a cordless phone. Then the size of phones shrank and small was considered beautiful. Now the trend is again of bigger phones! ![](/Content/images/emotes/happy.gif)

Iphones are incomparable, other companies cannot compete with iphones. No doubt they are costlier than other phones and may be bit smaller in size but these phones operate wonderfully and one always feel satisfied buying this kind of phone.

I'm not so hung up on gadgets and every little thing that comes out. But because I generally like Apple products, I'd probably opt for an iPhone. But i'm also a huge Samsung fan, most of my home electronic appliances are Samsung. So I wouldn't be put out if I ended up with a Samsung smart phone.

Used to say phones are just for calling and receiving calls. Except that my daughter just showed me some pictures on her cell phone that made me really happy. Now I say calling, receiving incoming and taking pictures. Samsung or Apple? Don't care as long as they can take pictures.

Samsung for me! I have had samsung since the advent of smartphones. But today a number of good phones are available at half the price. And a phone is outdated very quickly too! So value for money is my motto!![](/Content/images/emotes/thumbup.gif)

I always defer purchasing electronic gadgets/cellphones convincing myself that a much better model with new features would come to the market in another 3 months.
Jokes apart, I absolutely don't have any idea. I don't use now or I am going to use any of these two models in near future.

Though I don't really buy new gadgets every time a new model comes out, IF ever I would, I would ask myself these questions:
1. Does it have new and improved features (storage, processor, camera, etc..) that would help me earn more using this new model?
2. Can I afford it? *grin*)
