Mylot Member Stats

The statistics given for members in the left hand column can be interesting and informative. They show us how much posting and interaction everybody is doing, though not on what timescale. The stats include members who were here before the Mylot Renaissance in late Summer this year.
If someone is already following you, then you know how much they are interacting with you, but if approaching a writer who hasn’t found you or at least hasn’t commented on your work yet, then the stats can give you an idea how much they do.
Many have comments in the thousands, usually marked with a k rather than a string of 000’s. Of course, a writer who has only been here a few weeks won’t have done as much as someone who has been here since Mylot was founded. It is reassuring that most members respond and interact much more than they just post their own work hoping to draw readers in. On many such sites it is the opposite.

I think that is the site's best asset - too many are just about dragging everyone in to read your own stuff at any cost to your self-respect

It is nice how it is set up like that. Not all writing sites do this but it's good to know who are the active members and who are not. I always pay attention to stats but sometimes I don't. It doesn't matter really

Actually, it used to be more fun in the previous myLot. I am not saying it is not right now. But the problem is even we oldies, especially me, are taking time to get the hang of some of the things. Like it was only yesterday, yes only yesterday that I was told by topffer where to look for new discussions. I was not going beyond people. lol

Yes, that is a good section to refer to. That said, I am not happy with my almost 1:1 ratio of responses and comments....

I could babble on and on with numerous posts, I just decided to limit myself, for the most part to three a day. Most days I only do one or two.

@arthurchappell yep, I don't make myself start a discussion if I really have nothing to say. With bubbs I would try and do the ten a day, and did it for some time. Here my goals are to catch up other peoples discussions, write replies, and read and comment on at least one discussion for someone I do not follow a day

@Jessicalynnt ..it takes time for newbies to get some response. I'd say you would have to interact for a month before you can get decent replies to your post. Thereafter there is no turning back. Having said that, you are not at a loss you know. You get paid even for interacting on others posts, unlike some of the other sites.

I think it's great that this site provides a running total of the types of interaction or activity. Helps us know whether to follow another member or not. I had wondered if there were a limit on the number of daily discussions, but I never did write all that many before. Although before I was rather long-winded too.

@arthurchappell I'm sure I'll never even come close to the sky, or get much off the ground.
