Do you have that special friend?

I'm not talking about being in a relationship. I'm talking about true intimate friendship with one or a group which you just know would last forever. They take up a big part of your life, and without them you don't know what to do half of the time.
They can be your school or college buddy, your work colleague slash partner, your neighboring chatty friend always there for a talk or to help you out in need.
That person can be your truly beloved too. But we all have that special someone. How do you know that person is going to be always there? What makes him or her so special to you?
PS. I'm adding this part now, a day later, because my closest and best friend has just joined mylot. He is @rajib_s and hasn't introduced himself yet, but will soon, and I hope you wonderful guys could take him in and make him feel comfortable here as you did me.

I have one best friend who knows all about me. She is the only one I can say everything under the sun without being judged. She is the one that always listens to my complaints and she always gives me advices. We don;t see each other much, but we often make it a point to always contact each other every single day. She's my best friend from college and we still are the best of friends until this day.

@ria1606roy Yup. I've known her for 10 years now and she's the best person I've met. Sweet! Because we keep in touch everyday. Yup. Perfect Connection. We'd have the same taste on almost everything. We'd meet every 2 months, and text everyday. Whenever we meet, we talk about anything and everything. We enjoy each others company and we're like real sisters. Wow. So you kept in touch even if she's from another class? That's great! :)

@khhhaaaat yeah we were in the same school so went to the same tuitions when we met. She studied there for a year, but we kept meeting regularly at school during lunch breaks and while returning home. She is one of the rare few who gets me. And now we don't even have to try to keep in touch, we talk with the same warmth even though we don't meet that often.

@khhhaaaat that's so sweet! I have a friend too like that. We have known each other for eight years and we still meet up, even if we were never in the same class ever. We talk and try to keep contact throughout the year. It's the feeling of perfect connection, isn't it?

@writerjo very true. A best friend's worth cannot be measured, only felt. With him or her, we wanna say, "Yeh Dosti Hum Nahin Todenge!"

You must be referring to some kind of a soul mate who need not necessarily be your life partner. I have never felt the need for such friendship.

Yes kind of a soulmate but he/she might not necessarily be there all the time, but when together, they connect.

@ria1606roy,although I have a lot of friends,but my true friends are only two.One of them was my classmate and other came in my life by chance.I came across him at our railway station.As strangers to each other we began talking,and became friends in the process.At that time I didn't know I had got a jewel.Since then we stand by each other's side when we are in trouble.He can't live without me,nor can I live without him.

yes the kind that is there thru thick and thin and will do anything for you listen to you meaningful buddy goes shopping or bus ride or just hangs out you can have a life with we will help him with the best friends he could get welcome

Best friend(s) play an important part in our life. Without best friends life will be dull and drab. Best friend is a person, whom you could share your joys and sorrows and in whom you could confide in. I've 2-3 very close friends and I share everything with them and they are always there for my help and when I am in trouble and I need their advice, they come out with best of solutions. Some of the things we just cannot discuss with family members but with our best friend(s).
