Lemon Balm Grows Well in Water

I am not a good dirt gardener, so for me it is such a blessing that so many fine plants flourish without soil. This lemon balm lives in one of AeroGarden's newly designed space saving electronic planters. The roots are thirsty so I do top off the water several times a week and put a few drops of liquid nutrients in the water several times a month. The planter does the rest, turning it's grow lights on in the morning and off at night, and showing a red light when the water gets low or needs nutrients.
Lemon balm can be used in place of lemon grass in recipes and is highly nutritious. I like to pinch off a few leaves daily to put in tea and other beverages.

@crazyhorseladycx Sadly, at this home I have zero south facing windows, but I do grow a full salad bar in my 7-hole Aerogarden. I set out a lot of jars of cuttings of herbs and greens all around the AG planter to soak up the extra light. I usually start red leaf lettuce, romaine, amaranth, magenta spreen, golden purslane and a couple of herbs in the AG-7. It takes about 40 days from seed to edible, and then I grow more plants from cuttings. I also grow petunias and other flowering plants in the contraptions. I tried to add an image here to show you, but it didn't take. I'll just put it in a new discussion ;-)

I am nuts about nontraditional gardening. "Bf" asked "How many hours a day do you spend with your plants?" (loose translation: "Why are you wasting time with plants instead of paying attention to ME?") I just gave him an icy look. It is the same with the computer, rflol.

@drannhh haha Yeah just cultivate your passion more like you cultivate your plants. I like what you do. I'll look up non-traditional gardening.
