As some of you know, I was having some concerns over what my new rheumatologist had told me and that he contributed everything I was feeling to fibromyalgia. I have been having trouble with my back and with my leg going numb and he just shrugged it off.
I went to my primary care doctor yesterday and told her about what was going on. We talked about everything for a good 45 minutes. She said that she normally didn't like to talk about another doctor but said that she did not want me going back to him again. She said there are a lot of doctors that diagnose fibromyalgia when they don't know what else is going on. She was extremely upset about the whole thing and just kept shaking her head.
She is going to get me a referral to a neurologist because she is concerned about my leg going numb and the back pain. She is also going to refer me to another rheumatologist. I felt very comfortable with everything she talked about and also felt like I was finally being listened to. Now I just have to wait for her office to call me with appointments.

I am hoping that is true @celticeagle . I am kind of cautious now after what happened with my other doctor.

It's always best to get a second opinion

That is great!
I have a problem with the front of my right thigh going numb if I sleep in the wrong position. I've had x-rays on the back and hip and they've ruled out the "normal" stuff. I've had this problem since the early 1980's.
Fibro is a real deal, but leg numbness isn't one of the "normal" problems associated with it.
I'm glad to hear your doctor agrees about that doctor and is willing to send you to a different one.

I'm glad you got that advice from the other doctor. It must be upsetting to be wrongly diagnosed like that. I hope the appointment with the neurologist and rheumatologist turns out well.

It's so important to have a primary physician who really listens to you. You must be relieved to have found someone like that.

@Sheilamarie78 I think so. She did say that other patients have complained.

@simone10 It sounds as if she has had some experience with this doctor before.

@crazyhorseladycx Yes, I really do. Never thought too much about it until I was diagnosed with RA. Ever since, it seems like it is a constant battle.
