Strange Ways Housebreakers Challenge Their Prey

Some days ago, in a daring neighborhood housebreak, the thieves decamped after clearing a house of its valuables. In a move seen as adding salt to injury-they cut off the shirt sleeve of the house owner. The latter is almost raving mad at this move, something akin to throwing a gauntlet to the person challenged. Looks like the more intrepid among the housebreakers, have their own ways of challenging their quarry.

Hi Mohd. Yes many criminals do this in your face move like that. Truly that is annoying to the prey. And that is their objective, to add salt to the wound as you say. Madness. I hope they are caught.

Wonder if the fellow whose house was burgled will ever get his things back. Though the police might catch up with the culprits.

@gregario888 It might be a great surprise if they are caught. It sounds as if they are leaving their mark on the crime scene.

@TiarasOceanView Usually police have sniffer dogs, who invariably manage to pick up the scent of the absconders. in this case also the sniffer canines came and picked up the scent up to a considerable distance. It gives a sure enough clue to the movement of the absconders.

not sure what the damage to the shirt was intended to say - possibly an implied threat to cut the arm within it and rather sinister for the victims of such a crime

The intention was to make him as mad as possible. They just wanted to demonstrate how good they were at their job.

Definitely sounds like a case of adding insult to injury. They weren't satisfied with just taking their goods, they had to make a statement.

These fellows must have been very adept at their game. Since the unsuspecting victim, didn't have an inkling of what was happening around him while he slept.

Some show of bravado after having cleaned them out. It just gave the house owner a better chance to get a good look at the thief's face and identify him.

In fact the house owner didn't have a clue about what was going on. He just snored throughout that heist. Those guys were pretty good at their job.

That's a pretty weird way of making a statement. Apparently it's not enough to just rob their belongings, they wanted to provoke the house owner too. I hope those people get caught very soon.

Many criminals want to hurt you in addition to the damage. It happened also in my native country.
