Facebook, Twitter and Whatsapp.. these forms of social media are not only eating our time but our luxury also.. Its not a luxury of money but the precious time which we used to have with our family and friends. Though social media has given a platform to express oneself but it also have widen a gap between families. Social media should be restricted to a time limit. What you all think?

I haven't achieved much. It depends upon which angle you are looking at. And please don't be so fatalistic as "we can't change it anymore". There is always light at the end of the tunnel. You have read about my tough situation. I have worked many times more than 24 hours when I was young, and I still work. Many women have not worked a single day in their lives even when their husbands are drunkards, or gamblers. Many women have not worked a single day in their lives because their husbands have provided for them. Society does not expect drunkards and gamblers to mend their ways. It accepts them. But when it comes to me, they feel it is my duty to help the family of drunkards and gamblers who incidentally are now richer than me with all that pity they got from all quarters. I have my responsibilities, which nobody noticed I was doing honestly till I had to shout.

@skysnap ..I agree. But we can use the same thing to make them realize. Many of them do not realize that they are being selfish when they suggest such things. We on the other hand are at times carried away by out emotions at such times to be able to express it right. But with so much of social media support coming for us, we at least feel we are not wrong when we stand up against such demands. That in itself is huge. It makes us realize it is tough battle but we are not wrong in our thinking and feeling. And the battle may just be longer till everybody realizes that the world is not agreeable to their behavior and that they are the odd man out.

I disagree. There are plenty of people who have spare time and are alone. People should be able to spend their time as freely as they would like.

Yes. its a big temptation. I can't even sleep sometimes because I tend to scribble things in fb. I try to control myself though or else I might be out of control with it.

That is true. I spent so much time on facebook. When I was still new on facebook, Almost everyday, I visited the site searching for my friends and I met several of them on facebook. At first every night we chatted but later it seems that I lost interest in chatting. I only leave messages whenever I ask something from them. Same with my friends they just leave messages if they have something to ask or whatever.

I agree. It can certainly be detrimental to a relationship. People should take advantage of technology to make their lives better, not the other way around.
