Soo today My Wife calls me to tell me that one of our parrots died and that the other one was mourning and chirping sadly so I told her to release the other one. It was truly heartbreaking and even my children were confused and upset and didnt undestand that their pet had passed away...
I was going to buy another one to replace her but decided to free the male bird so it wouldnt suffer anymore...
RIP to My Parrot Catalina...

No offense but if it is a domesticated bird, you could do more damage by letting it loose, You should buy another one in order to replace the friend he lost. So I am a bit upset by you releasing it, unless you caught it from the wild fine but you didn't right? that's bad as they don't know how to hunt for food or find shelter or anything in the wild as they had no parents to teach them it isn't just instinct as the babies need that help.

I would leave their bird cage open and they would fly in and out most of the day unless we have the ceiling fans on. The cage is still on my balcony open with fresh food and water. It was a bit much to see my other parrokee suffer soo we sent him free

@BACONSTRIPSXXX Then you should give him to someone who cares and can take care of him and give him a home with a friend, IF he comes back do that otherwise he will not survive. There are a ton of articles and facts that prove this information, I seriously can't believe how stupid people are sometimes, perhaps you didn't know not calling you stupid don't get me wrong. But seriously give it to someone else that can provide for it better if you don't want to give it a friend. Put mirrors in the cage or something that will make him think another bird is there. It frustrates me. Do the research on this and you'll find that it isn't and wasn't a good idea.

You did a good thing by releasing the oher one. I am personally not in favour of caging birds, as it is. I have a garden that attracts birds of different specieis. There is a bird bath for them to frolic and have fun and also the garden has several fruit trees.
