I have seen people who wouldn't go out, who never goes to the club, never took a drink, never smoked, never chewed or gambled, never did anything to hurt, if you're on fire they'd pee on you to put out the fire......but can be filthy in their mind. When i'm talking about being filthy, i'm not just talking about morality. I do mean that too.You can be filthy with worry and stress and grief and emotional disorders and trauma and all these stuff coming to you. In fact quite honestly, some of the most moral people i have ever met were often people who in other areas of their lives had tendencies to be spiritually filthy. They didn't fornicate but they talked about everybody who did. Full of hate and anger and unforgiveness and jealousy and pride. They bombard their senses everyday with negative information, collecting all kinds of information and storing that up in their mind and you wonder why they have no peace.
You see these things can live well in your minds because you can't see them, you can't touch them, you can't smell them, you can't taste it. So you can walk around looking real holy and be just as hateful and envious and petty and jealous as anything in the world. Religious people can be dangerous.
And i tell you, Religion does not constitute relationship. You can have Religion and not have relationship with God. The challenge is to build up the spirit part of us....and i'm afraid we don't do that much.

@swissheart, i totally agree with you. That's why i think we should start from the inside by building up the spirit part of us which will invariable put controls to what we think and what we do.

@wilson247 yes indeed. if we really want to change we need to start with what's inside us

This is why religion can't save, but rather it is personal relationship with God. Sadly, many have mistook their religion as the way to heaven.

I donĀ“t like to use the word "sin". That means judging someine most of the time. I hope we can all respect each other in spite of our differences. Tolerance is what we need.
