I have been working for this company for quite some time now! It has been a more than a year and so far, I am happy with what I am doing right now and so far is it one of the best iv'e got! I can handle my own schedule, I get along well with my office mates, Workload is not so heavy, It is easy leave from work and salary is okay! BUT...... the only thing I hate about is my BOSS! He is not Filipino and has his own ways! I find him very unprofessional because he talk non sense all the time and is always asleep while on duty. And whenever there are problems at work he can not solve it worst suggests non-sense ideas! However, I can not dis-respect him since he is my senior! But I want to somehow tell him that what he is doing is not good! HOw?PLEASE!!!!!

That's a rough one, since he is your "boss" and has some control over your fate there. I'd maybe ask him for advice about which of two things to do, both of which are acceptable to you. That way he'll feel powerful and won't give you bad advice (because they're both your ideas). Then you can ask someone competent for real advice as needed, and maybe the incompetent boss will leave you alone.

You know, that is a great idea. It might not solve all of the problems but it will certainly help with some.

as long as you love your job than there's no reason to opt for something else. imagine that I hate my job, my boss and my colleagues so it can get worse. about your boss: the only thing I can tell you is that you need to treat him with respect even if he;s not that competent. as long as you do your work fine than you shouldn't worry too much

That's a tough situation. I'd probably just constantly remind myself that the boss can't possibly last forever with that type of behavior. He has to have superiors and eventually they will want him gone for his behavior. Hang in there.

I dont know how it is there at Philippines but in Indian context, there are many places where the "Boss" is always right and one cannot question his/her actions. That said, it depends on the kind of relationship you share with your boss. Reading the text above, it seems, the Boss is a little self centered and that means, he might not be that open to criticism from staff. And as @TheHorse puts it, this is a rough one. As you might see, there are only 3 ways to solve your problem - 1. Take a risk and tell him - in all politeness - you are the best judge of how you and he go together. 2. Continue with what your profile needs you to do - and ignore the boss's behavior 3. Find another job - but just remember, I never support running away from situations as there is no guarantee that your next boss would be any better, maybe more bad than this one.

That is right. You cannot disrespect this person. I don't think any given situation is ever perfect. And, what you have described doesn't sound that bad really. Show him you have good decision making skills and he will be going to you for answers.
