Yesterday morning , I passed by the bank’s ATM to withdraw some of my salary before proceeding to the office .
It rejected my card and said I have a wrong password. It tried it twice and have same message .
I checked my note on my smartphone about that certain ATM card’s password and was surprised to see that I entered a wrong password indeed !
I got confused with the last two digits .
Oh my , I am really getting old because I got confused with the correct passwordof an ATM card I always use ?

Our salary is being credited to our ATM cards that's why we have no choice but to have it . Though , i find it convenient to use because whenever i don't have cash in my wallet anymore i can withdraw from any ATM . I can also use it to purchase items from malls.

Don't feel bad, because it happens to all of us from time to time. I have forgot mine a few times, but i did have it written down, so I was able to look it up and do it correctly. The one thing I forget and I shouldn't is my phone number. I never call myself, so there have been times when I had to give it and couldn't remember it. How embarrassing that was.

@SIMPLYD You know, though it seems funny, when someone asks me my phone number, I have to think about it. I know I shouldn;t forget it, but when I don't call it, I am going to forget it. Maybe I should write it down and carry it with me.

Happens. It happened twice with me and on both occasions I put the wrong password thrice, and got my card blocked for 24 hours. On one case, it was manageable error. But on one, I was in a different city and did need my money Urgently.
It is not old age, but definitely some other thought that keeps you occupied and you brain does have not enough liberty to search its database for the right combination

@SIMPLYD Here in India, we get our cards blocked and rendered useless at any of thos ATMs or even POS for next 24 hours.
On that case, I had to call up dad from my hotel's phone (as I even did not have enough to pay for PCO). He arranged some money from his friend who stayed in that city. I realized later that I had panicked, as I still had two days more to stay at that hotel and could have asked them to keep adding to my bills.

I'm glad I don't have to deal with that problem since I only use one ATM card. Reminds me of my dad who confuses and forgets his passwords for his online accounts all the time. One time I told him that he could recover his password by email. But his reply was "What if I forgot my email password, too?"

@cahaya maybe because for the older generation, they were few and simple. they only had to remember bank account numbers, social security numbers, and tax account numbers. oh, and landline numbers.

@SIMPLYD Yeah, he only remembers the one he used for his work. He keeps on opening new email accounts and keep forgetting the password for every single one of them.

Yes, the age is catching you up fast. Please accept it that you are getting older. It should not be difficult to remember four letter ATM pin.
Don't worry, it sometimes so happens with us that we get confused and it's normal so you should take it easy.

@topffer Oh really ! How wonderful ! Here, even if you didn't lose your card , some scammers would be able to copy it and purchase from it. I don't know where they get the credit card number . I suppose because they saw it thru online purchases.

I have other cards too . But this one is the one i always use because it's our payroll account . So, forgetting the password made me think that i am already getting old indeed.

Fortunately, I am so far good in numbers. Nevertheless, have kept my total aggregate marks in Board Exam. followed by a zero as my ATM pin, which I will change after one year with my aggregate marks in another Board Exam.

But honestly , i am not forgetful . I still have a retentive memory in fact . It's just that momentarily forgetfulness that day .

Maybe because you have tried and failed for three times already . Me , on the third time it was already correct so it wasn't blocked . x
