I mean, is he the same guy who sang "Abhi Mujhme Kahin Baaki Thodi Si Hai Zindagi" (Right now there is some life remaining in me) just a couple of years ago? Either he was suffering with jet lag, or he was sick. Whatever, but that is not the Sonu Nigam I knew. I hear Shankar Mahadevan sing, and he sounds as crisp and lively as ever. What happened, anybody has any idea? Of late there are not many songs from this great soft songs singer. It will be very disappointing to see him drink his way to his grave.

In my opinion he killed his future when he said that he is unhappy with the Technology being used today and anyone can become a singer using the technology. I like some of his songs no doubt, but then, I also think he has been around too much and done with his part. Singers like Kumar Sanu, Abhijeet, Udit Narayan are all missing on today's Bollywood scenario and in all probabilities, the new generation of almost useless singers has taken up. It can also be the type of songs that are now on Bollywood. I dont find too many any interesting. I dont know about your viewing of Sonu Nigam on this discussion though. But the one you have placed here is a Gem of a song. And he did a wonderful job - it almost never fails to bring tears in the eyes.

@vandana7 It is definitely sad - either way - whether it was the mimicry or the statements about the Technology. And as for this song, I consider two to be his masterpieces - one definitely is this song and the other is Kal Ho Na Ho - the title song. On the lighter sides, for the swachch bharat, it might be that the organizers did not pay him enough

@thesids ..no it was obvious he was straining his vocal chords, and his face was looking way too drawn as if he did not sleep enough or was just out from hangover, and his clothes were so ill-fitting. Odd attire for somebody who always came impeccably dressed. At the worst, he might have been way too sick, and needed that money.

@vandana7 Oh. That is shocking then, as he always is neatly dressed with a good hairdo. As 2nd oct was a no drinks day in India, it might be the hangover, but that still does not suffice for the clothes. I would believe it might be the sickness and the prior commitments if not the money.
