A sudden influx of advertising and referral links

As we are all aware, advertising is strictly disallowed here, especially in the form of referral links for other programs. Naturally there shall always be someone who joins the site and uploads that kind of material in the hope of gaining some traffic before the post is removed, but it seems to be a growing trend recently. I appear to have encountered a few over the past day or so, which I immediately reported of course. I find it very annoying that people will stoop to such levels in order to try to benefit by a few cents or so. I do hope that all members make a point of reporting such posts in order to eradicate the practice as much as possible. This type of junk simply clutters up the site and detracts from the value of Mylot.

It would be fun to be able to delete them. Be gone. Take that. See yah! Bye bye looser. See me, now you don't. Take this, you spammer you, die! Okay, it would be fun for a while.

I think that many of us would love the option to do that, although we both know that it could never be.

@Bluedoll Yes, we do have the option to delete comments in our own posts, which I assume is to enable us to tidy up the post if lots of spam or irrelevant comments appear. Sadly, the Admin cannot trust that all members would use the option to delete someone else's post responsibly and I would probably be abused.

@Asylum Oh, I don't know. Anything is possible. You can do it on your own blog. It's fun showing 0% respect for spam. People on the other hand can receive a big welcome.

Referral links are fine when they're allowed, but when they aren't, it's really annoying to see them.

I have no problem encountering them on sites that accept them, but as you say it is annoying when they are posted somewhere like Mylot.

@Asylum Yeah, it's definitely annoying on here, since most people know they aren't allowed on here.

@ReViewMeMedia Most of the people who post them simply do not care. They are only interested in having the link displayed as long as possible before it is deleted.

Exactly, many sites have fallen into disrepute due to such material not being dealt with adequately.
