To Upgrade To Windows 10 Or Not

For some time now I have been getting the little invitation pop up from Windows to upgrade to Window's 10. Still I hesitate, I love my Windows 7 and the ease of using it. Maybe I am one of those people that don't adapt to change all that well either. On the other hand the frugal penny pinching side of me says it would be a good idea for one reason. That reason is because I feel I would get another year or two out of my computer since the updates would keep on coming with a new OS. Right? I wonder how many have updated and if it was a hassle or not. Is it worth it?

We have windows 7 as well. From what I have heard the windows 8 was not as user friendly as the version 7 was and they took the best from windows 7 to make windows 10. So, if you have 7, it wouldn't necessarily be an upgrade to go to 10.

I went ahead and upgraded to 10, Rindy. My laptop had come with 8.1, which I found cumbersome, so I do like 10 better than that. I don't know if I would switch to 10 if I'd had 7, though, as I did like 7, too. But your reasoning about the future is probably right.

I upgraded both my laptop and my desktop computers. This was never likely to constitute any form of hassle for me because I ran Windows 8 on the desktop computer anyway, which is much nearer to the layout of Windows 10 than Windows 7 is. I also had several months using the early pre release builds on my laptop, giving me plenty of time to familiarise myself with the differences. Of course it would not have been a problem under any circumstances because I have also used several versions of Linux and have no reluctance about using different operating systems.

My brother updated his computer but I won't bother. I'd rather get a new computer by Christmas so I'd have everything new. He seems to like it. It looks streamlined like a touch phone would look like.

Hello, I have decided not to upgrade to Windows 10, I am satisfied with Windows 7 and, for what I've heard, it is not as user-friendly as 7, although is an improvement over version 8, which was originaly designed for movile phones, they didn't did a great job, aplying it to PC's. Just a word of advise, I've heard in many sites, that, this version of Windows, should be installed manually, in order to disable some cookies or whatever they are, who send information collected from your PC directly to microsoft. I left you a link, I found in english. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLiozMpqV80
Windows 10 has a lot of Privacy concerns. Use this guide (A video reproduction of a reddit post) to choose which items you would like to disable. Hopefully, ...

Hello my friend! I also have 7, but won't upgrade. I shall wait until I need a new desktop. I have read pros and cons.

I think you are very wise and I am going to do the same. I have read pros and cons too and the security issue is a big red flag for me with windows 10. It is so good to see you!!
