Ok, I do try to interact but what the heck does one do when there's a oneliner that doesn't lead to a discussion?
Like the song says:
Music video, lyrics. http://www.stevewinwood.com/ When life is too much, roll with it, baby Don't stop and lose your touch, oh no, baby Hard times knocking o...

It's easy, one liners can be ignored and passed over for a better discussion. But then again it depends when I feel like commenting. Haha. Usually I don't but now I just did!

@rebelann But not very well, if it gets no secondary comments, huh?

I often use one-liners and they work just fine ... unless I don't use them, which sometimes works, too.

What's the big issue with one liners? Your post has proved that one liners are in great demand

you're so perceptive. Some seem to miss the point that it has nothing to do with how many words you use but rather that you're having a conversation, be it 1, 2 or more lines. I suppose it should make some kinda sense too though, but really some of what I've responded to and with really didn't.

It depends, I guess. Sometimes I respond with a one-liner. When I feel like typing a lot, I respond with more or even start my own sub-discussion . Sometimes I just press "Like" and move on.

I try my best to keep a discussion going, but sometimes you get an overdose of a certain topic. I usually end it there with one liners.

@shivuspeaks oh yeah, it can be so much fun when more than one person is picking on different people.

I guessing a number attached to a post is a good thing at time. I find it so different now that I'm used to 400 characters. Do I need to write less and post more?

@phredwreck could explain it much better than I @PainsOnSlate but essentially this is a discussion forum rather than a writing forum so that here you will be rewarded for discussions rather than posts. I'm finding it fun so far, I hope you do to .... oh, PLEEZE don't give up on bubs, I love to read your posts and look at the beautiful pictures you take of that part of our continent.

Well, yeah, that is what they keep telling me, at any rate, @PainsOnSlate !
Hello, it is nice to meet you! (I'm assuming you were referring to Bubbs, right?) If you ever notice where I have been, you will see that I still write way more than anyone else here thinks is correct... but I am still finding it difficult to cut my writing down to what they consider a manageable level...
And yes, I got part of my habit from Bubbs and part of it from WebAnswers. It is hard to change 5 years worth of habits!

@DaddyEvil I know what you are talking about. I must force myself to write less and more often. It looks like most won't even bother to read the long one. Too bad, they are missing some interesting stuff.. And yes I blew bubblews too.

@rebelann I rarely escape them except if I am going shopping or something. I do like a new local station that plays older songs I think I should request this one.

There ya go @Shellyann36 then ya can teach the twins how to dance to it. So many good dance songs from the late 70s through the 80s.

I don't know.
I like to think I can come up with "something" in response to those one liners - but well, even that may not lead to any discussions either. I think it might help to add a question in there - if they don't answer, either they haven't been around that the notification fell off their list or they didn't even bother to read it! Roll with it - yep, that's all you can do sometimes.

the minimalist articles risk giving you nothing to spark your interest or inspire a reply - it's their loss as there are lots of other articles to read and interact with

Hon, you do what you've seen me do many times... I give a silly response to the one-liner and see if it brings the person back to play for a while, or you can try to ignore those kinds of things... (I want a shrug emoticon, now!) Sometimes I can do that, others, I can't...
Hon? I need a little bit of help. Would you please check your pm's? Thank you!

@rebelann When I wrote this comment, you and I were talking via the pm's anyway, so you must have seen this and just missed hitting the Like button. It only looked like you missed supplying the help I was asking for.
You did help me with the problem way back then.
Thank you. I appreciate that you were worried you hadn't responded when I was asking. But you did, so all is well, hon!

I wasn't going to listen to it either, but did after seeing your reply to Janet. It actually got my feet a-going, but in a different way. I took today off from cashiering and have tried to get a bit of exercise in, so the song helped me march in place while sitting down. I figure that's better than just sitting there anyway.

I've been known to chair dance while driving but I had to curb that tendency a little when in heavy traffic @MarshaMusselman I actually signed up on this site in 2011 or so and forgot about it until Bubblews started having trouble and someone there mentioned joining Mylot.

@rebelann I need to remember to 'chair dance' more just to get more exercise especially when my knee or foot are bothering me; Otherwise, I should be able to do something standing up instead.
*(Added). I just realized this post was from two years ago? I didn't realize you were here that long or was that the year I joined? Hmm, I don't really remember anymore.
