What started out as a fairly mediocre post, sparked by a news article, I read, and a little contextual confusion check, I was making for something else, became a really interesting post, due to comments, made by others, so this is a little thank you to all of them.
The post was entitled "Is The English Language Confusing?"...a question originally put to 'foreign students' at a local 'Uni',,,where the general consensus, was YES!
The comments made here.. a little more enlightening and everyone's take on the question, slightly mixed...so thanks to @pgntwo@xFiacre@jaboUK @vandana7 @indexer @hereandthere
@Ragnarok8@MALUSE @Fleura @skysnap @Asylum@GardenGerty@marlina@LadyDuck@allknowing@owlwings@bluesa@bubuth...hope I haven't missed anyone!
... And a good point made by @TiarasOceanView...speaking the same language, isn't necessarily the same as Understanding...'which people are guilty of much of the time'

Thank you for the mention and great point by @TiarasOceanView. At least in English you do not have Feminine and Masculine nouns, we have in Italian and French and this can be confusing.

I love the potential for interaction here at myLot, because we can share our understanding of the language, and our frustrations when the thoughts become muddied.

It's a shame that @TiarasOceanView has unaccountably blocked me, so I can't see her response!

Hello Jenny. It takes care and the skill of listening to be understood as you say..
Sometimes we just have to slow down and listen to one another.
Also facial expression, hand gestures can help us too.

Thanks for the mention. It was a great topic, because I know that my Dad whose first language is not English, had to have a lot of patience when he started studying the English language, that post highlighted some of why that was the case.
