many people think , if they have a sustainable source of income , that they are independent , you might be economically independent , but are you really socially and personally independent? or you are just a part of a cycle that runs your life without your control , the cycle of pleasing others , and showing others that you can and you have and you are able to do things , even if you dont really need those things , you dont want them but you are doing this cos you are chained to what peoples are saying about you , what they might think of you and your image ,,, do you consider your self an independent person ?

Yes, I do consider myself to be independent. I always do what I believe to be right, irrespective of the general consensus of opinion or whether people consider me to be stupid for doing so.

It is very difficult to be independent : I cannot live without a mobile phone today even if I would like to ; I cannot live without a bank account, etc. I don't intend to live as a hermit, and I am indeed somewhere tied to the society where I live, although I am not always following the crowd.
