Yesterday our whole country was astir when the news came that Chinese scientist Youyou Tu shared the 2015 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine with William C Campbell and Satoshi Omura.
Youyou Tu is the inventor of Artemisinin and dihydroartemisinin which have been recommended as the first-line antimalarial medicine by WHO for a long time and have saved millions of lives from all over the world .
We all take great pride in her achievement!

@changjiangzhibin89 That is quite an achievement - an honor greatly deserved by Youyou Tu! There is a reason why old medicine has stood the test of time - and how good she was able to integrate it into modern medicine. Helping millions, she is a hero!

@changjiangzhibin89 I don't trust a lot of medications these days - they all seem to be a bunch of chemicals and do other harm. I really do believe the more natural ways of Traditional Chinese Medicine get to the root of the problem - that makes much more sense to me!

@much2say All medicines have side effect ,including Chinese medicine ,only the latter has less side effect .My 10 year old granddaughter has never taken western medicine or put on a drip so far .If she is under the weather ,Chinese medicine is the first choice .

Greetings!
I have heard that the medicine Nobel this year was awarded. It's simply GREAT! You sure have to be proud. Scientists are some of the most important professions nowadays. They're always working on finding out new things that could change the whole human kind. It must feel amazing to know that one of the doctors awarded with the Nobel is from your home country. It should also become an incentive to those who dream about following this researching life.
Have a nice time!
Respectfully.

IMO people like her should be recognized and credited promptly since this will encourage sharing of critical knowledge faster. As you can see how this is so vital at the end of the day but the accreditation is just a far cry.

@artemeis Even though she merited it ,but we put stress on collective action in those days .Anyway her being awarded is a tonic for our scientists .

There are many noble winners of the nobel prizes but there are also many who do not receive such recognition for their magnificent work. Bravo to all of them.
