I was looking in a magazine about making a pie for a dessert for a change, and saw to make the crust flakier they put ice cold vodka in it.
I'm sure it works just fine but i wonder how much would get done if i shared it with the pie?..hahah
How do you like your Pie?

@Rosekitty well, you have to taste it! Fascinating putting vodka in the pastry though.

@valmnz might be an old fashioned trick instead of vinegar and i'm sure the vodka burns off

Yeah...so I figured. Portugal has to be different...always different...different in everything...including little girls who run away to mumma and cry.. look they are teasing me..wonder if you hide behind mama and peep to confirm whether we've left.

Sounds all good. And maybe worthy of an experiment... The only thing is wifey will never let me have it just because of "Vodka" - the word is enough for her writing it off
Are we going to have this recipe added on to our list of eateries for the forthcoming parties?
Vodka is best served "on the rocks". On other days, I can also have it with some orange or other citrus based juice

ice water in pie crusts is actually a good thing. helps keep it from getting gummy as you make it

@Rosekitty Especially with a little strawberry syrup (not the maple kind) on the side for extra flavor agreement.

We normally do not eat pie here. I tried to find out the equivalent of pie here and I found that they are called Samosa or Kachori here and there are savory snacks. Here is a picture of Samosa.

I like pie! I should make a pie. Really cold butter will make flaky crust. That and not overworking it. I have apples. Maybe I will do an apple pie.
Cream pies are great too. And lemon pie. I am not partial to meringue, but I love the lemon filling.
Oooohhhh... french silk. I haven't made one of those in a while.
Or, chocolate and peanut butter pie.
OK. I LOVE PIE!
This is a very rich pie. It is also a very simple one to make.Ingredients:Baked 9" pie crust3/4 cup sugar3/4 cup butter, at room temperature6 oz chopped semi-sweet chocolate squares(or 1 cup choco...
