Replanting 4 Geranium Plants

My Replanted Geraniums

This morning I did the replanting of 4 different colours of geraniums to keep them inside for the winter. I bought some new indoor soil, I couldn't believe the price on this. Way too much. I emptied the outdoor pots from their soil and washed them carefully and then put the new soil in the pots and replanted the flowers. After that, I was bushed, I can't see that I didn't get enough sleep last night I hope that my little plants will be happy inside with me taking care of them.

Very pretty pelargoniums. I specially like the pink one with the darker pink spots. I don't know what the price of potting compost is these days but I do know that it's made to very exact specifications and that there are restrictions (quite rightly so) on the use of peat, so I'd expect it to be expensive.

First time I see this word "pelargoniums" for geraniums. I learned something new today.

I wish you luck doing this. I have done it in the past also, and have also hung my geraniums upside down in a dark place and then potted them in February so that they are vibrant and beautiful come planting time. Its a nice alternative when you don't have the space for the potted plants.

@marlina Won't they be beautiful when we open the shades and look out at the stark white piles of snow? I dread that thought!

I have noticed that the price of soil is very expensive. I have also to buy new soil to add to my gardenia. I love the colors of your geraniums.

Those are pretty - it's that time of year to start getting ready for the cool weather, isn't it? I'm not ready quite yet...

Geraniums don´t ask for much in our climate. That´s why, after I went with my husband to Andalusia, I started my andalusian garden in one of the terrace walls.

What is the difference between outside and inside soil? Sounds dumb but I can never keep plants alive inside but I use the same type of soil. I think it may be the heat in the house, and not enough open light.

I am sure that they will be very happy being inside and alive.

I have seven colors right now.. Orange, pink, white, red, fuchsia, deep purple and lavender. Can't you have them growing normally under grow lights? All our plants remain out through out the year.. we are lucky that way.

That does sound like a lot of work, but at least now they will be indoors and spared the harshness of winter, so they can continue to flourish. I hope you rested well after all that.

I had some pretty red geraniums on my front porch this summer. Never thought about bringing them in for the winter
