A few months ago I took a day trip to Mankato and visited some stores there and since I had never been there before it was interesting. It has a college there, extensive cycling trails, downhill slopes and river rapids. You will also find shopping, nightlife, entertainment and the arts. If you like fishing there are a lot of places to fish there also. You could also go to a hockey game, enter a rock climbing wall or listen to live music in the Historic City Center. You can also go kayaking down the Minnesota River. This Statue was in front of one of their Buildings and I am still trying to figure out what it is. Does anyone have any idea what it could be?

It's good to visit somewhere you've not been before. As some of the others hav said, it looks like a mountain lion or puma.

I have not heard about this place but the facilities seems very exciting. I would like to visit such a place. I found out that it is a village in Mankota Rural Municipality in Canada and it is located on a highway. Is it?

I have never heard of the place in fact I was wondering what country it was in until I saw Minnesota. It looks like a wild mountain cat, puma or panther to me.

It is a statue of a cougar which seems they roamed the area years ago. It is a very active town with lots to do.

It looks like a cougar to me, a wild cat. My husband lived in that area for a year or two before we married. I visited but never lived in the central North.

Yes as has been said it is a statue of a cougar as they used to roam that area a lot. Did you like the area when you visited him there?

He worked at Moorhead University, I though it was a charming area. But I don't remember much of it I was there for a very short time.

It always proves to be interesting if we visit somewhere for the first time. Even if we arrive at an uninspiring location with nothing particularly special about it, the fact that it is a change of scenery can give it some value and add some interest to the trip.

Even when I take a day trip to a small town there is always something of interest to see there like an old building or town hall that is ancient.

Yep, I think @jabo is correct, it looks like a mountain lion/cougar/puma, they are the same species just different breeds I suppose.

While I was there I went to the T-Mobile store (cell phone service) just to ask a few questions while we were there. Went to a couple of big stores like Kohl's dress store and a few other places there. Figure another time I will go back there and see even more. The picture is of a Cougar.

Sounds like an exciting time you had. As for that statue, it obviously is a wild cat. But what kind? I don't know. My best guess would be either a Panther or a Cougar or Cheetah.

It sounds fantastic! I'm glad you've been having fun getting out and about, Marcy :) I would definitely enjoy the cycling trails, downhill slopes and river rapids. ...although, i'd probably hike instead of cycling because I have sadly never been able to learn to cycle :(

@Marcyaz You're really best off learning at a very young age. However, when everyone else was learning, I was too busy wimping out LOL I now wish I'd been braver because cycling is such good exercise.
