Do not go by who has posted but what is posted

I read a rant about how dissatisfying interaction has been here for that user. I am sure there will be many more with such unexpressed rants. It is there for all to see. Some get responses that are not less than forty and fifty and some get none at all, not necessary that those posts that do not get responses do not deserve responses.
I hope there will be no groups formed as it used to be in the good old days. This is just my fear.
Happy myLotting.

This should be a level playing field but there is a tendency for some to group together.

@LadyDuck You did a good thing and that is how we can help the site. I do that sometimes.

@allknowing I know and this is normal because after a certain time you know which people write things that are interesting for you. Today I have checked many posts that had no comments, I opened about 8 and 5 were spammers.

The reality is that we read posts on a mixture of those two criteria. Selecting posts on the grounds of subject matter and quality may seem the logical approach, but we all generate a list of people that we follow, so if one of those submits a post then we are more likely to encounter it.
The whole idea of selecting members to follow is to interact with those whose posts we generally like, which negates any sense of favouritism. I do respond to some posts by members relatively unknown to me because I use the Recent Posts lists, but most of my interaction is with those that I follow.
It is always laborious for a new member because many others will be unaware of their presence and easily overlook material. Personally I accept such things as a fact of life and if I receive 1 or 2 responses to a post it does not bother me unduly.

This concept of following and being followed according to me holds no water. Most stick to those they have had encounters at other sites such as Bubblews and stick to them. As for me I have a different name there for the simple reason that i would want members to respond to my posts because they like my posts and not because I am so and so. Having said that it goes without saying that we do like posts written by certain members and it would seem as though we have picked them up.

@allknowing I have some friends here that I met at Bubblews, but the same concept of why they became people that I followed is still true.
If a member makes the effort to interact across the site then they will become noticed and providing that they post worthwhile material they will acquire responses, so if nobody ever reads their posts then they must accept some of the blame. We both know that you cannot expect to join a site and have a high response from your early posts.

@allknowing The time zone factor does have a great effect on results. If someone is following you they will be notified as soon as they log in, but others will be oblivious to the fact that you have posted.

I actually read and interact on posts of those who are supportive to me first and foremost and I think it is a normal tendency of anyone unless he does not know the meaning of gratitude. Then when I am done with them, that is the time, I go around to find posts that interest me whoever have written them.

I may not get as many responses as i hoped to get, but I am certainly happy that i have any at all. I struggle to come up with interesting topics, but I guess I haven't done to bad, as people are responding, and there are plenty of comments too, at a few of them. I am happy for the interaction too.

@allknowing I feel as long as I am going to get responses and comments back to me, then I am going to earn, and it makes me happy that people are wanting to interact with me.

@allknowing Yes friend I totally agree with you. We should go and have a look at the content of the discussion rather than who or which person posted it.I wish it will be as good as before. All the best.

Most are here from other sites and they get glued to them. I have different user IDs and so most do not know me except those who were here before.

Well just like you said , there are discussions that get alot of responses because they are either interesting , or easy to respond to , but i remember also the old days where there where used to be groups formed whom kind of for me personnally made me quit Mylot at that time.
Have a great day :)
