I can be quite forgetful at times especially regarding what needs to be done on priority basis...I now make a list , in fact several lists just so that I finish all the chores without forgetting any ! I make a list for daily shopping, one for monthly groceries which I leave on the fridge door so that I can keep adding from time to time. I also make one for all other jobs like electrician, plumber, carpenter and repair jobs , doctors appointment if any that needs to be done..Please share any tips and also whether you make lists and has it been useful to do so.

It happens with me and I am sure with others too because if you have too many things to do, you may not have sufficient time..But there always is tomorrow..

I do the same, I keep a calendar where I immediately write down appointments. A small blackboard in the kitchen where I write the ingredients I notice are missing and I have to buy. I always make my grocery list and also a "to do" list for household chores.

It is almost like my routine, it really helps to write down...I also make a route plan when I leave home , for example if have 3 or 4 places to go to,I write down in order taking everything into consideration , it saves time and fuel.

@kiran8 I also make a route plan, I try to evaluate how much time every stops takes so to be sure to do everything in time.

I have a legal pad by me all the time. I write down discussion ideas, things I need to do, remember the kids to do, things that we need to get, etc. Lists are great.

I guess I manage to keep track of what I need every month because when I reach the shop, I go about purchasing things sequentially. So I start with brushing right? I need a brush and toothpaste, and one set for papa too. Then soaps, then tea, then sugar, then coffee, then oats, then semolina, pulses, blah blah...and finally, washing and cleaning soaps. It is difficult for me to forget anything. I am at the most guilty of buying more than what I need. I mean, I might need just one kg of sugar, but I might just end up stocking two or more. I do that because I am constantly fearing some riots. lol. Work, yes. I too like to do thing sequentially.

That makes sense actually because even if you have forgotten to list out something , you will be reminded of what you need.., I too end up buying a little more than what I need , but it is ok since it gets used anyway..

I make detailed lists. Often there are sub-lists on my lists. I wonder sometimes if I should just DO what I listed instead of wasting time listing them down in details.

It is always better to prepare list of tasks to be done. Someone once told me - 'Palest of ink is sharper than any memory' (meaning thereby that if we have written something, that will last rather than our memory). Our mind cannot store all tasks required to be undertaken, therefore, it is better to note it down. While going for monthly grocery shopping, we make a list in advance so as not to forget anything. Else, I use my mobile phone calendar for executing a particular task e.g. payment of mobile phone bills/electricity bills/water bills. I sometimes set my mobile phone alarm so as to remind myself about a task.

Yes I seem to be making lists like you so I don't get distracted from my goal and what needs to be done. It's really a nice tool to keep us organized and focused. I use an app on my phone to make lists and I'm lovin' it.

That's a good idea for when you can't remember what you need to do. I have pretty good memory so I don't make list, I just do what needs to be done. This weekend I plan to catch up on cleaning since I was out of town last week. Hope you are able to finish your to do list.

I often make lists of things I have to get done. In fact, I just sent an email to myself, both here and at work, about a document I have to draft tomorrow morning before my 11 AM meeting.

I too find that very useful, computer might crash and you may lose any documents if you have not made a back up, instead posting it to your email account is the best bet..I have had ocassions when this has come in very useful.

Lists are very useful. I also make them especially shopping lists. They help me not to pick just anything but those things that i need and hence i don't misuse the money. Todo lists also helps in time management as one avoids doing other things apart from what you have set to do. It therefore helps meet goals easily

I've recently began making lists as well. I'd go crazy if I didn't! Especially since my memory is so horrible, I'd be sitting around all day trying to remember what I was supposed to be doing!
