I have come across an interesting fact that most of the Asian people save money and are not interested in spending it. Their prime motto is "save, save, save". While the western people intend to spend the money rather than save it for future generations. I have also come across an article long time back urging the Asian people to spend money to become richer. It also said Asian people are saving the money for western nation to spend. So my point is- " Is the man who owns the money richer or the man who spend the money"?

The person who is content with his achievements and failures is real rich perosn. Rest are just numbers. And Maybe not even rich in a sense of good life.

@mkrnex lot of rich people are hiding money in multiple assets so it's hard to get that estimate and real person out. only people who are showing their money in open legally are ranked. so hard to find that out.

@skysnap No, I wasn't intended to count the rich men. But I am intended to find who will become rich the man who is saving oriented or the man who is spending effectively (investing) oriented.

I think you forget that the East and the West are very different. Asians cannot rely on unemployment benefits when you are out of job. Asians have to support parents and grandparents when they are old and cannot work. The people in the West do not do that. They can rely on government to support them, and pay for their medical care. If Asians do not save, they will face the prospect of homeless and starvation.

@scheng1 valid point mate. Western people don't live with their parents or look after their parents in old age instead they are independent people. Lot of cultural difference. But unemployment benefits are news to me. I was not aware of it as in Asia I mean India there are no such luxuries. If you work then you can survive. And parents put all their money into children's development and children look after their parents in old age. This is in our culture.

saviang money is important but what good is it to save it and you are completely miserable you have to endulge every now and then. We save money for a rainy day but we also have money that is being saved for some fun stuff later down the road.

Yeah. The cultural background behind the man. The moral background behind the man all matters.

I have met many poor people who have a lot of money. They know the price of many things but not its value. If you mean by rich who has the most money I suppose the man who does not spend his money and just accumulates it.

The actual rich is the one who spends the money not who has the money and do not use it!
