myLot is more popular than Bubblews

@Rollo1 I don't know that site. I've always used Alexa but it's interesting that their stats differ. I actually find it hard to believe that Bubblews is still as highly ranked as it is after all the problems there.

@Gina145 Considering how unethical the people who own and operate it seem to be, it wouldn't surprise me if there's some manipulation going on to ensure that the rating is higher than the site deserves.

@yukimori I'm not sure if that can be done, but I suppose anything's possible.

@PainsOnSlate The only thing that surprises me is that the decline has been so slow. If you want to see a site's ratings, go to Alexa.com and type in the name of the site, including the .com at the end. Current ratings: Bubblews 14,482 myLot 12,875 But what's important is that Bubblews is going down while myLot is going up

@PainsOnSlate I haven't been around there much lately, but I never really believed things could improve. Not unless somebody new took over the site anyway, and I'm not sure who would invest in a site with such a bad reputation.

@Gina145 Interesting aboaut Bubblews. Everyone believed things are better but they are not.

@Gina145 yes that was for quite some time for now. I doubt they would even pay a single member here onwards.

@skysnap I hope you're right. I can't understand why so many authors are still there. I know some are hoping to cash out once more, but it seems that Bubblews aren't paying those that do.

@skysnap I read that one of B's moderators is trying to help out those who are waiting for payments but I have to wonder whether she'll be successful. I have no idea how many there are waiting for money, but presumably there are quite a lot of them.

@pgntwo I haven't looked into that. From all I've read they treat their members fairly and that's all that matters to me.

myLot has an extremely strong history with regards to treating its members well. The administrators may not have always been visible on the site, but complaints have been addressed in good time and handled fairly. While the site discontinued the earnings program suddenly in 2013, they had an untarnished reputation for paying on time (or early) every single month, and they did lower the minimum payment amount to $5 for the last payment they made in 2013. It may not be perfect, but past experience shows that the folks running it are more concerned in its sustainability than in generating short-term profits.

@Cleptomanx The declines happened because their pay model was unsustainable and they ran out of money. And the guys in charge have disappeared because they don't want to answer all the complaints.

@Gina145 Yeah, I would definitely disappear if I were in that situation as well. I did Bubblews for a while, but never got to a payout. I think my last balance was something like $46... Luckily I did have a pretty enjoyable experience at the time so losing out on the cash didn't hurt too much. Probably why I decided to give myLot a go. I guess if I had gotten into Bubblews early I really could've cleaned up. Oh well, just another missed opportunity to add to the pile. ;)

@arthurchappell It really surprises me that it's lasted as long as it has.

@EddieHands The trouble is that they probably couldn't afford to pay everyone because they set their rates too high in the beginning. The talk is that there was a lot of money invested in the site and it eventually ran out.

@gudheart I'm sure all the members feel the same way

@softbabe44 For many people it was good in the beginning, but there were always some who didn't get their money although they felt they'd followed the rules. The only thing that changed is that instead of cheating some of their members, Bubblews decided not to pay anybody.

@Marilynda I noticed that as soon as I joined. That was important to me because there were a lot of Bubblews members I really enjoyed interacting with and I'd found it hard leaving Bubblews when I couldn't find them anywhere else.

@boiboing I'm just surprised how many people have stayed there as long as they have. I lost trust in them as soon as they announced that they wouldn't be paying all their debts.
