I just read this quote from Charlie Chaplin and I was wondering what a great genius he was. I just love this quote and wanted to share it with you here..
"You need power only when you want to do something harmful, otherwise love is enough to get everything done."
Do you like Charles Chaplin? Do you watch his movies even now?
What are your thoughts on this quote?

Not really true.
Love is not enough to get things done.
If you look at the rate of divorce in many countries, and you see the reason for divorcing, you can see that love is no match for money woe.
Many people just cannot overcome money woe though they deeply love each other.

@scheng1 I like your having shared your thoughts, but I donĀ“t agree with you. There are many ways of overcoming problems when there is love, respect, tolerance and patience. One does NOT fall in love. That is a passion, not a deep feeling.

When people truly love each other they find ways of working through problems. Love as it is defined these days.. falling in and out of love isn't really love.. Due to which after the first passion of the flesh is assuaged people slowly drift away and fall out of love.
I guess many people do not understand love for what it is.

yes it's quite a good phrase to hear, speak, use or write.
but in real life doesn't really workout to be one although it might be working quite a great in the reel life but in real life it never or in other words seen very less often to be worked out.
because you need money in real life for your daily living expenses to compete with only love is not quite enough. but yes i do agree that finding a real love in life is really very important because it gives us power not only mentally but it boosts up our body physically as well by making some chemical changes in our body as well.

@sanketwagh Have you really tried love.. I mean the real kind.. which gives and gives without expecting.. True we need money.. we can always earn enough to save ourselves .. but what is the use of having everything and no love.. consider it. I have been on both sides, the haves and havenots.. and I believe that it was just love that kept me going through it all.

@sofssu Gone through that phase experience speaks afterwards. as i mentioned earlier love is definitely something but u cannot say it is enough to live a happy life long. so rather i would like to phrase it in such a way that both love and money are equally important in life

I love Chaplin and I still watch (again and again) some of his movies.
I agree with the quote.

i fear i don't watch much t.v. 't all, though used to enjoy those ol' black 'n whites. 'twas a true statement he said. love 'n compassion's what's needed to climb those mountains.

I was never a fan of charlie chaplin films... or any of that genre really... it was more the genre than the actors....
As for the quote...I think I understand what he was saying...., but...I'm not sure I agree with it.... but can't quite put it into words as to why not.... but I do agree love is a very powerful emotion and motivator....
