Do you remember the train attack happened in France the last 21st of August? A terrorist opened fire, four people were injured, but three American, were able to subdue the terrorist. Their names are Alek Skarlatos, Spencer Stone et Anthony Sadler, they are friends from years. Now, I do not want to spread rumors or conspiracy theories, but... Alek Skarlatos, had to attend a class at Umpqua, the day of the Oregon shooting. He escaped because he was in Los Angeles invited by Dancing With The Stars. Spencer Stone, yesterday, has been stabbed in Sacramento, he is in serious conditions, but he will survive. Now, if I were Anthony Sadler I would feel uncomfortable. I cannot see a reason right now, but I cannot believe in a simple coincidence. Do you have a theory on this coincidence?

I had to say conspiracy theory, but who knows. I don't know enough of the 'facts' to say.

I have to dig to know a little more, but I usually do not believe too much in "coincidence" .

I'm not into conspiracy theories either, but oh no...did they find out who stabbed Spencer Stone?

I am trying to find out more. It's weird, they were together on that train and they risked their life only a few weeks lager. I'ts weird.

@LadyDuck That is my favorite movie of all time. I just watched it again last week and made The Boy watch it, too. I love that they make him sound crazy, but that all his conspiracy theories are actually true.

@Rollo1 I am watching the movie (again) the next evening, he sounds crazy, but he is not crazy at all.

Yes, I remember about the train. Goodness gracious, a person does have to wonder about certain events. It could be just a coincidence, but then again, there could also be more to it than that.

It's weird, already two out of three that had risked their life in unusual attacks... I do not think that this is a normal coincidence.

@LadyDuck... Well if the third goes down, I'd probably plump for conspiracy, if it stops at two. then the jury's out....

I am also waiting to see what happens next. By the way, it is a strange coincidence.

Yes, I consider it to be purely a coincidence. I never pay attention to conspiracy theories because the evidence provided is always flimsy and circumstantial.

@LadyDuck Of course I will. Probability is not altered by conspiracy theories, so predicting something will not stop it from happening any more than it will cause it to happen. We can construct connections to associate almost any 2 occurrences if we are prepared to go far enough to do so.

I am a fan of conspiracy theories. Will you still believe in coincidence if something happens to the third guy too?

There is very little being said about the details here, but Sky News in the UK reported the two suspects were "Asian" which is what the British Press say when they mean Muslim but don't want to be accused of being biased against Muslims by correctly identifying them as Muslims, etc., barf, barf, gag me with a PC sock. I don't think it's a coincidence, or perhaps I simply wonder if it is a coincidence and wait for more information to see what we find out about the attackers and if this rumor is true.

I have searched to see if I found more info about the attackers, but I can find nothing interesting. The man they blocked on the train was a Muslim, I suppose that some of his group are not happy they helped to get him arrested... just a thought.

@LadyDuck A repeat of three following two has made it into a situation that everyone expects.

Alek Skarlatos was just lucky. Spencer Stone is obviously the kind of nice guy who will step in to help someone in trouble, and sometimes gets hurt doing so. If more people acted like he did, probably more people would get stabbed. That's not a coincidence, just a consequence of living in a violent society. And of course the same thing could have happened to other people as well but that didn't make the international news because those people are 'unknowns'.

@LadyDuck That's what I mean. I'm sure other people who have been stabbed today in the USA (and I'm sure there will have been others) are not in the Italian and Swiss news.

I'm going with coincidence. The fella in Oregon was a troubled loner. The guys with the knife in Sacramento were probably just thugs. They'll check the communications of both, I'm sure. The Sac guys haven't been caught yet, though.

@TheHorse I feel as if the guy in Sacramento was either helping someone or some macho pia wanted to mess with him because he was on the news and had been honored by the president.

To be honest, I was pretty surprised since the train attack. Strange dynamic of the facts, I feel that there is something we do not know, but we will never know.

Isn't this what Carl Jung called synchronicity? "...the simultaneous occurrence of events that appear significantly related but have no discernible causal connection." There's a Wikipedia entry for synchronicity also. So odd when it happens, though. Kinda gives me a goosebumpy feeling.

I do knot know if it is only a coincidence, but I had a weird feeling reading the two events... I do not know.

I hope not, the fact is that they have permitted to arrest a fanatic terrorist in that train... who knows if some fanatic groups now are searching for them.

I am not quite sure where the dots when connected will lead to. We need more detailed reporting to either mark it as just as a coincidence or if there was any other motive
