A pack of hungry Lions crowded a buffalo with their huge fangs digging deep into the body, tearing on flesh and blood and eating hungrily. At the far end of the forest sat 3 bush men watching the feast go on hoping the beast would have their fill and leave the spoil behind. But after a long wait, the lions would not move as they keep eating and sucking on blood. The tribes men were hungry too as they have wandered the jungle for many days without a game. With hungry eyes they sat down and watched the beast for a little while. Looking at each other with eyes full of intent, hands clutching solidly on their bows and arrows, they slowly came out of their hiding place and walked towards the lions. On hearing the sound of rustling leaves as the three men approaches, the lions looked up. The men kept coming and the beast stood staring. It was an intriguing moment…..a journey of no return, a time to live or die. On seeing the men come close; the Lions began to back off one by one. They kept running until they had put a mile between themselves and the men. Under the shed of a tree, tongues licking, they gathered themselves together as they watch the men cut a big chunk of meat off their kill and walked away. It was eerie as it was weird. It wasn’t until after the men had reached the spot where they had sat together a while ago thinking and scheming on how to pounce on the beast that they turned around and saw the Lions had gone back to feeding on their prey. I don't know what to think as i couldn't figure out why there was no casualty. I’d been thinking all day why such an odd reaction from a pack of hungry Lions. I need answers.
