Are you one of those people who are always putting your keys somewhere and then forget where you put them and have to rummage through the house looking for them? Wouldn't it be nice if you could keep track of your keys. The most obvious thing would be to always put your keys in the same place, like on top of your desk, a hook on the wall or anyplace you designate for those keys. For the ladies if you carry a purse you could attack a long chain with your keys on it. For the men you could attack a chain to your wallet or your belt and always have them with you.

99% of the time my keys are always where they should be. Therefore it's usually when I change routines or rushing around feeling flustered that I occasionally lose them.

My keys are usually where I put them on the desk but once in a great while if something has upset me I put them somewhere else and then I have a terrible time trying to remember where I laid them down.

Oh no, and how in the world did you get back inside? I would have really been panicked at that point in time when I realized what I had done.

@dodo19 Just follow the step above and you can also look for somewhere conveniet in your house where you can always hang your key when at home

I keep my keys always in the same place. I keep mine in a closed compartment of my purse, all the others are in a "key cabinet" near the entry door.

@Lushlala It's the only way to be sure to find them when you need. Not all the keys are used every day.

My keys are either in my pocket, or in a bowl on my night table beside my bed. If I put them in my purse they disappear down to the bottom. My mother in law keeps a rack of hooks by her door. Her keys are hung there. Sometimes she still puts them in a pocket or purse and loses them.

That does seem to be the problem with our purses is that things seem to disappear down at the bottom.

@nonersays Another thing I have found it doesn't matter if the purse is large or small you still can't find anything right away.

@Marcyaz I KNOW! Like, a purse is supposed to be so handy and keep everything a woman "needs" with her, within easy reach. But nothing is ever in easy reach. No matter WHAT you need, it is always at the bottom of the purse!

Things were better and good when they were personal. Now, I have no clue where most of the stuff is... yes, I know, it can be somewhere in the house

I have misplaced my keys before. But I usually know where they are, I do keep them in the same place all the time. But they have a new device I saw online that connects to your keychain and has an app to work with it. If you lose your keys you can open the app on your phone and find them. I think thats cool.

With me it used to be my glasses until I figured out if I had two pairs I would keep one by my chair in the front room and one in the bedroom then I would know where they were at.

One good way would be to buy a reeeaaalllyyyyy expensive key ring! If you have something valuable attached to your keys ( assuming those keys are important - like house keys ) you would automatically be more careful about where you place them. Basic human psychology

My keys are always left in the door itself because I live alone so it does not matter if the keyhole is blocked.

@Marcyaz No, they are on the inside of the door, which in turn is locked. If they were on the outside I would not be able to reach them.

I wanted to start a post on 'keys' but you did it before me.. It is really difficult to manage all the keys and remember where we have kept them. You are right that there should always be a fixed place to put up the keys. If we keep keys at different places, we could land in trouble. I try to keep my cupboard keys, vehicles keys, door keys etc. at a fixed place so that anyone could find it out (even when I am not there).

Maybe you could post something different about keys then I wouldn't feel so bad. It is a good idea to keep your keys in one spot so even if you aren't there and someone else in the house needs them they will know where the keys are kept.

Yes,I am one of those and it's true I have to rummage the house looking for it.Sometimes I forgot to place it where it should be and also because I am being forgetful sometimes.

I have both my sets of keys on a clip so I can attach them to my purse or my backpack (I don't carry my purse when I go to school). Unfortunately, my biggest problem is leaving my keys in the car and locking it because I only remove the car key when I drive and sometimes that dinging doesn't go off when I stop the car. So now my husband has put it on this lanyard so I will see the key before exiting the car.

Well glad that has been taken care of now so you don't have to know if the dinging goes off or not.

@Marcyaz Actually today was the first day I used it and the cord is not noticeable. My husband will probably come up with a different plan.
