I am sure we all are proud of our country where we are born and brought up! For me, being an Indian is a matter of respect and honor to be a part of such a diversified and rich culture. Not many of you would be knowing about India in detail other than its History and Culture.
Here are some facts related to my country:
- India is the largest democracy in the world, the 7th largest Country in the world
- The Indian film industry (Bollywood) produces the world's most-watched cinema
- India has the world's highest concentration of vegetarians
- Half the world’s outsourced IT services come from India, amounting to a $47 billion dollar industry
- Yoga was originated in India and has existed for over 5,000 years.
- India never invaded any country in her last 100000 years of history
- India was one of the richest countries till the time of British rule in the early 17th Century.
- Chess was invented in India
- Before 1986, India was the only place in the world where Diamonds could be found.
- India is the world's second-largest English speaking country
- The world's largest producer of milk and spices
I can go on to describe India, however we have some areas to work upon to make it at par with the developed nations.

@kiran,Of course,we have to address many minus points and a long way to go.If Modi succeeds in having a majority in the Rajya Sabha and reigns in his detractors in his own party,he will be in a position in implementing his policy. One thing I like to say about Narendra Modi.He is honest. He is from the RSS and an honest person from the RSS can't deceive their country.

I know that India is full of history and amazing places!
It has long been one of my most desired places in the entire world to see!
I was exposed to a lot of Indian culture when I lived in UK and I most admired the delicious Indian cuisine and the most vividly colored and lovely designs of saris.

@wiLLmaH - You need to first come to Delhi to enjoy a ride on a Royal train called 'Palace on Wheels'. It is basically meant for foreign nationals.

I know it has some of the most beautiful places in the world. I read about one photographer and backpacker who stayed for many months in different parts of India and told many interesting stories about those places.

I know that I would rather be here than any other place on earth, and at the risk of sounding cliched, what I like most is its diversity of cultures and what I cherish most is our democracy in spite of itbeing flawed!

We are surely proud to be an Indian. India is an incredible country and it has unity in diversity. I am sure those who are from other countries know about India, one way or the other. Many Indians have been staying in other countries and locals get to know about India through them.
India has wonderful places to visit and hopefully, the one who is coming from abroad, will enjoy seeing those incredible and beautiful places.

Even I feel proud on our country. Yes there are many things to be solved and many bad things, but still I think it is best for me. And about bad things, I guess we can discover it at all over the world. Yes there would be more or less.
Here people always have nature of being helpful to others even they don't know each other. I love this thing. I know this is not true for all, but majority of people are like that. Plus we are having people with all religious, so lots of thing to learn from different people.

Weren't diamonds routinely found in other places all over the world much earlier than that? Even in the states, in Arkansas there was a diamond mine in the early 1900s. What about African diamond mines? They discovered some in the 1800s.
