Do you still use a watch?

I wonder why anyone still use a watch when a cell phone serves as an accurate watch, and an alarm clock.
I have not used a watch for years.
I am surprised to see people still spending a lot of money to buy expensive watches.
What is the purpose of that?

Same here. I will not want a watch anymore.
If my cellphone does not work anymore, I will just get a new cellphone.
I think until the time when they can make cellphones as small as a watch, then perhaps I will change my mind.
But then, a small watch that serves as a cell phone is not practical, since the keypad will be too small.

@scheng1 I think the time it comes, the cell phone has no keypad. What you are going to do is to speak in it and it follows your command.

I was a very dedicated watch wearer up until a couple of years ago. Despite the digital clock display on a mobile, wearing a watch seemed quite natural to me, which was probably from force of habit.
A couple of years back my watch stopped and I planned on buying another, but simply never got around to it. After a few months I have become accustomed to not wearing one and decided to leave it at that.

I cannot recall when I stop wearing my watch.
It is really enough for me to have a cell phone that serves as an alarm clock as well.
I think watches are going to get extinct after another generation.
When something has no practical value, it will not survive.

I think your friends and relatives know that you love watches, so they give you watches as gifts.
I think 30 years later, hardly anyone will wear a watch anymore.
When something does not have a practical use, and is costly, I doubt people will still want it.

Many people prefer watches as they don't rely on their phones all the time. I don't wear a watch, but I do hae having to pull out my phone to check the time. I'd prefer to not be so reliant on my phone. A good watch can also be a fashion statement.

Yes, I think a watch is more of a fashion statement.
I think many young people do not use a watch, since they are playing with their cell phones all the time.
There is no need to check the time with a watch when they are holding the cellphones for most of their waking hours.

Maybe they find it easier and more practical to check the time on the watch than having to take the cellphone out. But I also know some people wear it as a fashion accessory. I haven't worn a watch for many years.

I do not have a smart phone too.
My old Nokia phone is very reliable.
I do not need a smartphone, and I do not intend to spend money on one.
I do not need a watch as well.
As long as I can go to work on time, and return home on time, that will be good enough.
