My daughter has three cats. A grey tabby, a silver long hair and a black and white They are healthy and happy. The grey tabby is a spoiled brat and my daughter douts on him terribly. Well, the thing that gets me is that she kisses this cat. I mean right on the mouth. Ugh! Grosses me out something terrific. Do others do this? Is this something you've seen?

I've seen people on videos kissing their dogs. They don't seem grossed out, but I have doubts too how hygienic that is.

Cats do touch noses as a sign of greeting and I would occasionally do that with my cats but I would never think of kissing it on the mouth because that isn't the cat way of doing things (they lick with their raspy little tongues and hardly ever on the mouth).

@jstory07 Yes, she does.
@sniroshanw Sure we can. But kissing on the mouth? I don't think that is needed.

I have two dogs, and I never ever kiss them on the mouth. I will kiss their head or something like that, but not their mouth, as to me it certainly is gross. I don't allow the dogs to lick me on the mouth either. That seems so unsanitary. Gross

I totally agree. My mom used to let her dog lick her and it totally grossed me out.

@celticeagle Mine will lick my leg, and I don't know why, but I do try to stop them, as they don't need to lick me. I think it is gross especially on the mouth. Very gross and disgusting.

We have had lovely bundles since many years and yes we enjoy their company but never kiss them on their lips and don't let them too as Preiti sometimes attempts to

Ya, why do they want to if it isn't really an animal thing? People influence?

I dont know about others, but things were almost so very close to this, between me and my only late pet - Poppy. I see this as a way of bonding and sharing love between me/us and the pet.
And yes, I have seen a video that was shared to me on whatsapp, where there were very young kids doing this "kissing" the pet thing. One even kissed the pet parrot

@celticeagle yes of course. But is it right for us to keep her away from male dogs?

My Bella loves to kiss and I have to be really careful because sometimes she catches me off guard and gets me in the mouth and as much as I love her, it grosses me out. I don't really mind kisses on the cheek but not in the mouth.

@celticeagle They really do love to show their affection. Their love is so unconditional.

I tend to kiss my cat on their noses and the tip of their mouth after they give me licks. But they don't like it much. They prefer tummy rubs and neck rubs for their PDA to express their love.

@celticeagle It does. I don't go overboard. I just show them my love and affection in gentle ways. :-)

When we had our cat I would at times kiss him on the nose and he would like my cheek. Some people think it's ok to kiss their animals on their mouth's to each to own I always say. Different strokes for different folks. Whether one does or doesn't I don't think is anything to make drama out of for sure
