Hello all
When you wake up early in the morning, amongst the first things that you should do is brush your teeth. Right? But I rarely wake up early
As wife had to leave for work, I woke up, locked the door and fell back on bed for a second round of my sleep. But the power went off and it is hot today. So after tossing (on the bed, where else) for a while, I realized, I will not be able to sleep any more. So went to the bathroom and when I tried fetching the Toothpaste... it was not there.
Must be wifey again!!! I looked around at all places I knew - she can even keep it near (thankfully not on) the stove - but I was unable to find it. Neither on the refrigerator nor inside it.
The next thought came to mind, did she take it to school? After about 15 minutes of search, I gave up and called her. Luckily, she picked up the phone and No, she placed it right where it should have been.
I wont be long. This is the first part. The second concluding part will be up tomorrow.
So as for now, the question is - What do you think about the missing Toothpaste. And if your toothpaste went missing, what are the possible locations that you would search for?
Cheers,
DetectiveSids

@topffer How do you know, Top? Do you carry around a lady bag or do you rifle through a lot of them?

Do you wear glasses? If you do, one possibility is the toothpaste was exactly where she had left it but you weren't wearing your glasses and so couldn't see it there.

It is the infamous Toothpaste Bandit on the loose again. He was captured and put away several years ago, but he must have made his escape recently.

@thesids Why do bandits do anything that they do? It is just because they are bandits, of course.

@sishy7 Healthy Kids... they dont chew their nails off
Fortunately, this one item is always on the refrigerator in my house. I find it strange that since the past 8+ years that we have been married, how come this particular item has never changed its place

Maybe she left it inside the refrigerator !
I also would always be searching for my toothbrush the next time will be using it . That's because in the morning i would inadvertently place it where it should be but then in haste, placedit in a different place .

Thankfully we have a couple of Neem (Azadirachta indica)Trees in the campus which are well known for their medicinal values. And in India, many still use a shoot of their very new branches as alternates to brushing teeth with fluoride based pastes.

I was methodical and kept things at place until I got married Wife can keep things almost anywhere and forget all about where they are kept. I had tried fixing the things (getting them placed back where they should have been, but now, I realized, it only adds to my worklist)

Ah yes, baking soda has some good qualities for the teeth cleaning. I havent used it any time, but I have heard, that it also adds sparkle to the teeth and makes them glittery white. Unsure if that is true. What is your experience with it?

@lokisdad Thanks for mentioning this. After reading this, I surely feel I should try it out. I already have some stains (maybe coffee or chocolates to blame or even the smoking that I was addicted to during 1990s). Will get some of it tomorrow morning (as it is already 3:30 am here in India at the moment). Will get back to you once I attempt it.

@thesids Its true we use it to clean the house and do laundry mostly. My wife will brush with it works great it doesn't taste as pleasant as all the fancy flavored toothpastes but it works just as good if not better. She once used it after drinking and eating nothing but stuff that stains teeth you could see the slight discoloring and she used it and you could see the difference she spit out the baking soda and it was tinted with the color of the stuff she had drank and ate. We love that its child and pet friendly no harmful smells etc.

Oh I am here late on this one!! Surely you solved the mystery by now, but I will take a shot at it. Just how could toothpaste not be where it should be? I suppose it could have fallen to the floor, but you would have surely noticed that. It could have been misplaced in a cabinet or drawer if you have them near your sink. I might look in the trash too in case it was all finished and I hadn't noticed we were almost out. But really, when I brush my teeth, I am often in a rush because I have to leave . . . so if I couldn't find the darn toothpaste, I'd just go to our lower cabinet and just open up a new one! Ok, now on to part 2.

Hehehehe. Forgetting to keep it in the baggage during trave used to be my nightmare during the 1990s when I started traveling alone. Otherwise, it was always mommy who would do the packing of these necessities. Soaps, Toothbrushes, Toothpaste and even those detergent soaps
Now, wife has a better idea, she keeps a spare in one of those travel bags always... just in case she might forget. I understand that this has helped her s she had been frequently traveling since the past 2 and a half years.

Fluoride-feeding alien life forms moved into your house like ninjas to take it home to save their dying planet - alternatively, most likely it would stay in the bathroom, as that is where most people would use it. Could the tube be empty or damaged and therefore have been thrown away? Do you have spare tubes or easy means to buy more until the mystery is explained?

Fluoride Feeding Aliens
That was the best one I read on this discussion
I did not have any spare (or at least could locate that spare) and so I got out and found myself a shoot from the neem plant - Azadirachta indica - is its scientific name and it has great use as an alternate to normal fluoride pastes. The only issue is that it is horribly bitter in taste.

I do sometimes search for some other things at my home, but not the toothpaste. If my tooth paste is missing in my home it means that it has been completely utilised & time is now for getting a new one :)
