I believe that, with very few exceptions, we are all affected by some unreasonable fears.
The most common are the fear of height (acrophobia) and of the closed spaces (claustrophobia).
There are other more uncommon phobias, among them:
- Ablutophobia - fear of washing and bathing.
- Chromatophobia - aversion or fear to colors.
- Somniphobia - it is the fear to fall asleep.
- Haphephobia - the fear of being touched and even to touch.
- Neophobia - usually found among elder people, fear of new things.
- Coulrophobia - an unreasonable fear of clowns and their costumes.
Are you affected by an uncommon phobia?
I suffer of claustrophobia and a bit also of coulrophobia.
I prefer to stay away from Circus.

@allknowing My Mother told me that when I was born and the nurses gave me my first bath, they did not keep my head well out of the water and she saw that I was scared trying to breath... I believe that this was the start of my fear.

I cannot think of anything that I fear strongly enough to qualify as a phobia.
The idea of becoming sane and normal would really scare me, but as that is so unlikely I do not worry about it.
I have always liked the really odd phobias such as triskaidekaphobia for the number 13 and phobophobia as the fear of fear.

I fer earthquakes very much, but it is a wholly reasonable dear as I live in the country that has the biggest quakes in the world. Still, I think that tsunamis are worse, but I donĀ“t live near the sea.
Besides that, I hate roaches.

@vandana7 You probably don't remember it, but I started my own paraskevidekatriaphobia category in the old myLot to speak about Friday the 13th. It is a serious topic.
@LadyDuck Some people are buying lottery tickets or scratching tickets on Friday the 13th, and think that it is a good day for money games, but I don't play for money...

I never heard of many of those, but I do know of people that are afraid to leave their homes and therefore, for some, they've not been outside for years and years.
I don't think I have any 'fears' currently. There is much I don't particularly like, and I'll stay away from those. For instance, I think I might be the only person on the planet that doesn't much like parades. I have gone when my kids were involved, and I walked in one a few years ago with our work group, but otherwise, I'd rather be writing online or playing games than out in odd weather looking at all the floats.
I enjoy heights, but I don't like being on shaky ladders. I try to stay off most ladders these days as I know of many elderly that lose their sense of balance. Unfortunately, sometimes I still need to get on six foot ladders, but I make sure someone is around just in case.
If anything, I have a fear of winter, but not really. But, I'm hoping that one day, we'll be able to afford going to a warmer climate when winter arrives. During that season, I'd be happy to stay inside till spring arrives, but I also enjoy spending time with family and would miss the holiday get-togethers.

I don't have any phobias but I used to help an austistic teenager who did not like me to wear pink!
