Haunted Houses and Hayrides

This weekend my daughter, her husband and their friends are going to a haunted house to get in the spirit of Halloween. My grandchildren will stay with me as it's an adult outing and from what I hear, even the adults can get the heck scared out of them. Along with the haunted house, there is a haunted hayride and big huge corn maze. They're done this before and always had a great time. Do you ever go to haunted houses like this?

I had been to a place called Terror on Church Street in Orlando, Florida. This place is now closed we are told.

That sounds like it would have been frightening. Was it as scary as it sounds? By the way, do you like my new dress?

@allknowing Thank you. I though that you would like it. Was it a good kind of scary or just plain frightening and not very enjoyable?

I like doing those kinds of things and have done them in the past. Right now, we are focused on "family friendly" Halloween fun, but as the youngest gets older I am sure that we will be doing the more "grown up" things right along with her. The thing is that they grow up too soon, so I am happy to wait on having more "adult oriented" fun until she is older.

My grandchildren are too young to do these haunted house things since they are really adult only attractions. We do have many kid friendly Halloween things for them to do and of course the old tradition of trick or treat.

@Marilynda1225 Oh yes, my daughter is too young to do the scary stuff as well. She is starting to get a little old for the "kiddie" things, but she still likes them this year, and I am happy about that. Soon she will start wanting to do some of the scary stuff, and we will choose the daylight ones that are not really scary but a bit frightening for children, such as the mazes where they jump out and scare you, but it is done in the daylight for the young but not really little children.

It is pretty scary since they have real actors all dressed up like zombies and the haunting is all live. Too scary for me

Yes, I remember we went to a Haunted House a year we were in Orlando (FL) for Halloween. We have nothing like this here.

Seems a bit early for Halloween doesn't it? We don't do much in England for it, but that outing of your daughter's sounds fun.

I guess they start things like this early so they can make money before Halloween. It's a lot of fun and quite popular

My sister is going to a haunted house this weekend also. Last weekend they went on a haunted hay ride 4 of them. I'm not into any of that as I'm not big on halloween like everyone else is.

Sounds good and scary... Here I have not found more scary house I guess as you mentioned. But I have visited one in the mall which named as scary house. It wasn't that big. Just few minutes and we are out of it. But yeah it was bit scary. But not that much fun. I wish I can go for some really scary one. But yes it should be only artificial. No real one at all. lol

Oh that sounds like fun. I used to many years ago. Me and my kids loved doing things like this. However my hubby doesn't and the kids are grown and gone now. It's no fun doing it by yourself.
