Whats Your Take On Police Brutality?

All over the united states riots have broken out and many hate/racial crimes have occured all over because of police brutality. Im sure you have all seen the " black lives matter" movement but in the end All lives matter. Trigger happy police should not be getting away with murder especially when the act is being caught on video. I for one do not approve or support of all the innocent lives gunned down while unarmed or dying under police custody. Whats your opinion on this topic?

My question is this: how is this new? Look up what happened at Kent State in 1970, or what police did to civil rights protestors (black and white) in the 50's and 60's. People are acting like this is something new. It is not. The thing that I don't like is that the media only harps on this when it's a black person killed by a white cop. They do that to incite riots, and sadly, too often they succeed. Riots are only going to make the bad cops worse (reinforcing the thought in their mind that they're right to "beat up on these thugs") and in the process put a lot of innocent police and civilians in danger.

I have watched some of the videos posted on social medias showing scenes between people and the police, its surprising to see that the victims most times bring the brutality on themselves. When a cop says back off, you simply back off. when they say put your hands up, you've got to do that without delay. when they say step out of the car, you simply leave the key in the ignition and step out. Its as simple as that! But what these people do is argue and cuss the cop aggravating him. Moreover these cops are trained to read your body language, body movement, the intent in your eyes and every little move you make. They are scared of being hurt by you and can't help pulling the trigger or stunning you anyhow in order to protect themselves while on duty. Its a hell of a job and i must tell you, its not an easy one. Just picture yourself given a job to protect and care for people who don't like you in anyway. You be living in fear for your life and jumping out of your skin at every little move. So what's the answer to Police Brutality? "Obey every command without delay and keep your mouth shut". The cops are humans living in fear same as you do, and can misjudge or misread your actions sometimes.

That was perfectly worded. I have said many times that most of these shootings wouldn't have happened had the suspect complied with what the officer was asking him to do.

The fact that they are policemen, do not justify them. They are there to protect the citizens and to make people respect the laws. They are not there to break the law.

I think most people that are given power usually abuse it and police is a prime example :( It is sad that many are racist, it is so aggravating.

I feel the same! There should be fairness in the act of police while dealing with citizens

I think things have gotten really weird @BACONSTRIPSXXX . I think cops have gotten tired of non-compliance by citizens. When they pull you over and ask for your info, you're not supposed to stand there and argue. When they tell you to turn around or get on the ground, you're not supposed to physically challenge them. I think they are just getting really frustrated. That is still no excuse however.

I hate those police who would do that . Even criminals have heir rights to be treated right not physically maul them because they hated them .

Whenever there is certain form of uprising, there have been police brutality. I'm not sure anyone can stop that if they have been ordered from above that they have to stop the demonstrations in any way they can. The poor people who are dying under their torture.....I don't know how it can be stopped if not by the police themselves. Because more violence and protests are leading nowhere, only making it worse for everyone.

Personally we don't have this here on the islands. All I have ever seen of this is on TV mostly in the US and some other places around.
