What kind of crafts do you enjoy doing. I am into clay modelling, I play around with home made clay, enjoy bead and mirror work, making cards, painting and working with clay on pottery, etc.. I also love mixed media, altered bottles and pewter work. what are your interests

We are a family of artists - and I like to think we are well rounded. But I also come from a crafting background - I made things as a child to pass the time away. I don't really have a specialty in craft as I dabble with everything (and hoard plenty of supplies - ha ha). Really, I like creating things that make people smile - greeting cards, themed decor (I do this for friends' parties and classroom events for the kids), putting together "customized" gift packages, etc - making use of my illustration skills and stuff I did as a graphic artist. Oh, last year I did up the scrapbooks for all of my little son's class - that made a lot of parents smile!

@much2say Wow sounds really good. You seem more professional .. than you take credit for. I just dabble with stuff.. scrapbooks fo all kid? That must have a been loads of work. I bet the parents were happy. I would have been too. Do you let your talent make some money for you?

@sofssu Well, I ended up being a graphic artist in the printing industry for many years - I had an illustration and graphic design degree. Yes, that was my career - but can't say that I enjoyed it - my heart wasn't into it - I just fell into that industry. The past decade I've been a stay at home mom - and basically been doing kids crafts - among doing these "personalized" things. That is wear my heart is and I have all these ideas in my head about a lot of things (in the way of making money) - but I haven't gotten my act together. The scrapbooks - oh yah - it turned out to be A LOT of work - for 24 kids - instead of pacing myself throughout the year, I literally pumped it out in less than a month. But it was well worth the effort - hopefully it will be a keepsake for years to come. I didn't get paid for it - I volunteered - but the teacher did give me a gift card to Olive Garden!

@much2say Hmm .. your training in graphic arts does have its impact on what you do I guess. I am sure when you find the time you will be able to get things done and make them pay for you. Wow in a month.. amazing. I am glad that you were rewarded in some way for all your efforts.

@LadyDuck I can never get enough of playing in the clay dough.. I wish I learned how to knit and crochet. Now I get headache concentrating on things like that for long.

I am certainly into crafting. I mostly like wood carving (whittling) and decorative painting. I also dabble in making various dollhouse miniatures. I have an Etsy shop that I try to sell my handmade items on, although it hasn't been doing very well this year.

@sofssu I haven't tried selling any of my dollhouse miniatures yet, so I don't know if they are popular or not.

Crocheting is a nice relaxing craft. I haven't done it in a while, because I'm mostly into wood crafts, but I learned when I was a little girl, and still find it fun.

Well, there are things I do that might be crafts, and there are things I do that are just crafty. I think it's crafty when I fix something with cardboard toilet paper rolls and duct tape instead of buying something new. But in my spare time I like to knit and crochet. It's about all I have room for. No room for lumber and table saws.

@Rollo1 crochet and knitting are cool.. I never learned those.. Mom did a lot of that. I love fixing things too.. making broken and outdated stuff look like an object d'art.

Let me see. I enjoy crocheting, counter cross stitching, flower arranging, painting, scrap-booking, and woodworking. I think that about covers it all. I enjoy fiddling with different things, just to see the outcome..

I like sewing, gardening, loom knitting, making wreaths and learning just about any other new craft I can get my hands on. I just love making things. When I was a little girl I cross-stitched all of the time all the away until I got married. I did it so much that I couldn't hold the needle anymore and had to give it up.I dabble in candy making some. My friends all say I'm an excellent cook, but just about everything I make these days comes from Pinterest. lol My latest fascination is coming up with recipes for sugar scrubs and skin care using essential oils.

I am always awed by people who are into crafting weapons and armor from the medieval ages, such as the folks in medievalist renaissance groups
