There are generally 2 sets of skills that employers are looking for. Hard and soft skills. Hard skills will be the 'technical skillsets' required by the employer to fulfill the job description (eg. TCP/IP, C++, miff codes, manpower planning, HR matrix....etc). Soft skills are more people related (eg. Good leadership, communication, positive, tenacious, initiative..etc). That's my little 5 cents worth of contribution lol

@kirtibhaia06 My personal opinion....there is no one best skill. It has to be a combination depending on the role. Ie. If you are an IT Project Manager, besides having good technical skillsets you also need to be a people person. You need good communication and leadership. Else, it'll really be hard to get anyone to follow you. What do you think? :)

IMHO, employability skills are secondary. Primarily, Asian employers still look at paper qualifications.

It is, naturally, essential that a person should have the necessary skills and commitment to do the job in question. That is what makes a person employable. Often, of course, a candidate may not have all of the skills necessary and will need training. In that case, he should be able to demonstrate at interview that he is willing, eager and capable of being trained.
